3500 N/A auto in the 12's?

Post by Asylum »

So you are an old bastard with more money than brains and have decided to get serious about all this FWD crappola you said you would never have any part of back when you raced 9 and 10 second Super Stock cars in NHRA with Chrysler providing the paycheques.

Survived Law School, have a great laid back lifestyle, and now this silly Beretta thing.

So here we go.

Cam is here, along with the associated pushrods and valve springs.

Motor #2 is going on the engine stand this week and whatever it costs, WILL BE the quickest N/A Beretta!! And it will be a 3t40!

You guys are making this fun again, and Rodney is a bloody OBD-1 genius!

I will run a few 13sec n/a runs for you this year, I am sure of it.

12's!?! Good luck, thats one hell of a goal! That would be AWESOME if you could pull it off though.

Sticking with DR's?

Going to need some N2O with that cam to get 12's ;)

SuperDave was close, but his cam was huge compared to yours. And he had long tube headers...

I think DR's will do it. There are guys running 9's on these things!

Rodney thinks I'm being foolish! But HE'S CRAZY at best! He really IS!!

But I can have slicks here and mounted in two days if the DR's don't hold up.

No NOS!!

More cam if need be, but I am of the opinion I can get there, or Very Close with what I have going into the second engine.

The 14.06 engine will be the back-up, but it's getting a bigger cam as well.

And this new trans is unbelievable guys!

I can't believe how hard it shifts!! Chirping the Goodyear F-1's on the 2-3 shift at 40 mph!! 1-2 in Drive is a loud "squawk" at any speed.

Get Billy to build me a damn 4t60e! Until then he's NOTHING in my book... LOL!

Make sure to invest in a GM pre 2000 timing chain and have it chryo treated.... Look in my thread to see what happens when you don't with a large duration cam... Also you may want to start thinking about getting Pistons and bumping up that compression... That will get you much more power.

Crazy old loon. I guess the Looney Tunes emblem finally makes sense!

I'll be happy with a 13, or just the fastest stock 3400.

So what cam is going into this 2nd motor and what is all done to it???
Going to have the original motor with a cam just sitting? LOL

Might want to look on 60* about the cam bearing issue Jon had. Might want to get heavy duty aluminum ones.

I'm leaning toward the double roller actually.

Or I'll just order the pre '99 stuff from GM.

I should get my machinist buddy to come up with a gear drive!!!

Gear drive won't work with a knock sensor..... So that idea goes out the window.
