NEED PICS OF 5-Speed SHIFT CABLES!
Yes thats all caps...
Since the ball got droped before I decided to pick it up, and to be quite honest I have NOTHING to gain from this so I don't even know why I'm doing this.
BUT I contacted Madison Power Systems a company who specializes in custom type cables, Push/Pull, shift, anything you can come up with.
Within an hour he called me back asking for pictures of what we would like to replicate and what the ends looked like
SO I'M ASKING YOU GUYS! I need pictures of the shifter ends of the two types of shifter we can use, and then pictures of the transmission ends of the transmissions we can use... Obviously keeping them in order with each other.
I think we should start with the much needed cables first, basically all the ones that everyone uses when they do a 3400 5-speed setup.
so GET ME PICS so I can keep this boat a float for you guys.

Re: NEED PICS OF 5-Speed SHIFT CABLES!
I have a cable that I will send to them if need be. Its a pre 92 cable. I can send it the weekend of the 27th or get pics then too.
There all the same on the trans side. There are different pin sizes, but a new cable just has to have the bolt with the square on it to work.
Shifter side just varies by pin size as well. So a swappable end would do the trick.
Are you looking to get a stock replication made? Or improve it?

I'm not looking to get anything. I'm looking to get him an example to see if he can make them, then YOU GUYS get in touch with him to order a set for what you want.
I'm only assuming you'll want to somewhat improve them.

Show him the pic of the napa cables, they look just like the stock ones. They have the same looking ends, just in different combination.

I brought my old shift cable to school with me, so I can get detailed pics, measurements, or ship it to someone. Whatever he needs
Re: NEED PICS OF 5-Speed SHIFT CABLES!
I will get both ends from the Quad stock cables tomarrow.
Gives me a chance to see how the Fiero Shifter is gonna fit.
I used stock GTZ cables for my swap. All I had to do was use the GTZ Trans bracket instead of the 3.1 bracket. I think Quad cables are shorter.

Fiero shifter cables go out the back of the shifter I'm pretty sure. Your going to use that in a beretta?
Re: NEED PICS OF 5-Speed SHIFT CABLES!
I will find out in a few hours.
I noticed the cables cam eout the back when I grabbed it. I figured I would figure something out.
Maybe I wont need the entire unit. We will see today. After my coffee I will get motivated.
And lastnight after a little searching, I found Barry's post with detailed cable pictures. Its in perf mods.
Shift Cable Information is the subject.

Re: NEED PICS OF 5-Speed SHIFT CABLES!
Madison Never got back to me and I haven't had the time to call anywhere else.
People on Bstuff recommended calling Push-Pull since they make cables for a 284 so they should be able to do a 282.
Maybe by the end of the week I'll have some more time to send out a few more e-mails to both Madison and P/P

I sent an Email to P & P and have got nothing back yet. But I did get some pictures of my old linkage. 91 Iz.

Push pull does not answer emails. They lost potential business there.
Their phone number is 5308934060 if anyone wants it.

Well I plan on calling them, but I need some info. Im sure they need some specs on how long they are. On the Napa site it says one is 51.125" and the other is 50.875". But I swear I heard that one of the cables were not the right one.

I also was lookin around and say some info in the 3800 series turbo topic and on the last page he said he bought some cables from WCF and after google search found http://www.westcoastfiero.com/cables/cables.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. They look a little $$$$$.

Re: NEED PICS OF 5-Speed SHIFT CABLES!
Sorry guys, I have not had the time lately to invest into this.
Lucky you seem to be going in the right direction. And since I myself do not want a set of cables I think you'll get much further with someone if you call about it. With me they will wonder why I even bothered calling if I don't want anything.
Keep this thread going though so you guys can have a resource to go to about these cables, and who may be able to help you produce a replacement set.
