Honestly I wanted to give one of these away as an award last year but I just didn't have the money to blow on it. Even the E-bay ones are stupid expensive for crap.

edit
Actually they have some $35 versions... I just couldn't come to spending $50 after shipping for something that would be thrown away most likely.

Stealth version...

go totally poser or go home LOL

hell that stealth one you posted is a hell of a lot cheaper than the one my friend wanted. IIRC the was he showed me was $400+

HAHAHa just looked at the price of the one i posted and for $50 i might just get one. any road test won't happen till next year anyway so i'll probably wait till spring to buy it.

i'll split the cost of the $50 unit with you.

Try a place that sells boat parts, most of these blower fans are actually vent fans for the engine compartments on boats so they don't go BOOM from fuel vapor buildup! I've seen them for as little as $10 lol

i've seen an article like that. iirc it said they were bilge pumps or something like that.

one i looked at just looked like a pc case fan on steroids.

A bilge pump is submersible and is for pumping water out of a boat.

The technical term for these is a Bilge Blower. An efficient 12 volt, continuous duty, high volume air flow blower for extracting potentially hazardous gasses from boat bilges and engine compartments.

Look familiar? LOL They start at around $5 and up, and anyone that bought one or thought about buying one for a car for anything other than a joke isn't too bright! They don't create ANY boost! ROFL ;)

haha look at the first two. i see what they did there.

i should get a couple and list them at $200. there were more than a few that were higher than that. guess this really reinforces the term there's a sucker born every day.

The ones on the bottom race shops re-tag as front disc brake duct fans, and charge and arm and a leg for them... We bought a few for our roundy round car a while ago.

Thats completely unrelated... its a leaf blower that is powerd by its own gas engine... not even close to a electric motor powered by the same electric system that the vehicle is charging.

repost... And like that article said, you're better off buying a nitrous kit or putting that money towards a real turbo or supercharger... Electric supercharging is counter-productive and will remain that way forever IMO!

Same topic, different technology. Yes, electric turbo's are coming. Check out the link below & page 26 of the Jan'12 Car & Driver. An electric turbo will be on the next gen BMW M3.

It's only electric to get the turbo spinning and reduce lag, its still using the exhaust gases to move the turbine after that.
