Unplug Heater/Ac electronics for more HP ?

Post by 91-GTZ »

Hello,
I read on another forum that the Beretta heater/ac pully is always running and to unplug the electronic for more HPs.

Is this true and dose this apply to my 91 ?

and if so. How do I do it ?

Thanks
Pretzel~

They don't know what they are talking about.

The only time the A/C compressor is running is:

A) You have the A/C on. Duh.
B) You have the Defroster on. (helps dry out the air).

If you look at the pulley you can see it's got 2 parts to it and one part lets it spin free then when you turn it on it makes the whole pulley spin.

Late model cars have their AC temporary shut off under WOT for a few extra hp for passing.  I don't think the first half of the Beretta's product cycle had this feature.

The only way my '88 GT would pull on the same era 300ZX was to turn off the AC.  So it does make a difference.

91 has the cutoff... works when your TPS sensor reads at WOT it sends a signal to your ECM to disengage your compressor clutch

This means race with your A/C to keep cool
