4t60e with a 2.2?
4t60e with a 2.2?
Is it even remotely possible to make the 4t60e trans work with the 2.2l engine? if so, how?
Re: 4t60e with a 2.2?
What for? that 4t60e is normally mated up to a 3400 or 3800... you would be better off using a 4t45. they used them in cobalts with the 2.4L ecotec that made 170hp. way more than the OHV 2.2 can make. if you want the efficiency of another gear, I would go with the 4t45. how did you plan on controlling the 4T60e?

how are you controlling it? Its fully electronic.

You should be able to run the full manual valve body, or at least program it to do so with a shift kit.
If a shift kit is available for these transmissions, that is. I know nothing of the Transverse mounted GM auto's. I know a little about the RWD/4WD incarnations though.
But if there is a kit available. It's usually a good idea to install one. Most will tighten up shifts and raise line pressure, which will reduce wear on the clutch plates. Some kits for some transmissions can accomplish much more but it all depends on whats avialable.
Sorry for the long post.

There isn't much available in that area. The only "kit" is a transgo shift correction kit. It fixes some of the issues but as far as shift firmness and speed you need to customize stuff to get that to work.
He would have to use a 4t60 NOT a 4t60e if he wants a 4th gear, the 4t45e would be good but once again is electronic and there aren't manual bodies out there to just slap on.

They make electronic fixes for that situation. But in all reality, a 2.2L should never be breaking a 4t60E..... If anything the trans would break from being bored out of its mind! jk jk jk3X00-Modified wrote:There isn't much available in that area. The only "kit" is a transgo shift correction kit.
