MOTOR SWAP!

Post by Beretta Z26 »

ok all,
Have decided to pull the 2.2 out of the retta.  And was wanting to put a Quad 4 motor in it.  I would like for it to have a Quad 4 H.O. with a 5-speed but mine is only a 4-speed auto so thats just some more work to be done to convert it over.  So If anybody knows what year model or where i can get a Quad 4 motor let me know, And please let me know if this can be done!
P.S.- Mine is a 96 Beretta.

Seems much of work if you want to swap a Quad4 in your car.. i think the best way ist that you look around and buy a good Quad4 GTZ. But if you find a GTZ with a bad body or something and the trans and the engine is good then you can do a swap..

I have a list from quad4forum.com with all Quad4 engine cars. But you need to look at the HO's, if you take a car with the LO Quad4 then you need the head and cams and all that stuff to change it to an HO. So the best thing is you get a HO Quad4

So you want to put a Quad and a 5 speed into an OBD-2 '96 Beretta.

That is going to take some doing!

Get onto the Quad Forums and ask alot of questions.

I can, and has been done on OBD-2 cars.

Good luck with it.

A bit off topic. Eric, I was noting your sig. Is it supposed to read "Where we're not happy until you're happy" or like it is "you're not happy"? ROFL. I wonder if I'm the first to notice that.......

you will have to swap out the entire subframe (and all that is attached to it) /struts/wiring harness/ECM

It can be done though, just need to find the right parts.

I would just rip EVERYTHING off the front of the beretta fenders and everything and just have the unibody up there... then start to transfer everything over, this would be the cleanest/best way to do it.  Probably could save some time too since everything will be easier to access without anything on the front.

mantapart is not someone you want to deal with.  They have never kept someones money permanently but pretty close to it.

from what i understand here, you want to take a quad 2.3 and put it in your car? youd be better off selling your ride and buying a gtz with a quad.... honestly, thats your best bet bro.

the z26 is on the road!

Not to crap all over your idea Z26, but seriously, that's a CRAPLOAD of work. You're better off swapping to a 3400 or buying a Quad car. GL bud.
