Ok so my 3 speed blew out after about a week of being mated up to the 3400 so now its time for a trans swap..I know this has probably been asked in the past but what all will I need to do a 5 speed swap?

everything attached to the 5 speed, as well as the car compu... that's a good start

And are you surprised you blew up the 3t40? You didn't do anything to it so it never stood a chance. Swapping to a 5-speed is not the "right" answer... its just one of two options... Would have been smarter to prep the auto to handle the power rather than just kill it.
