well, Its out and about.  I put the alternator off my spare motor on, put this stiffer mount on, and got my new exhaust on.  I pulled it out the 26th and have put about 300 miles on it now.

As for the mount, thats stainless hardware.  I didnt want something as rigid as a poly mount but didnt want it as loose as stock.  It definately did the trick, very happy with it.

The exhaust that was on the car was press bent 2.5" aluminized from the muffler back and that was the only non-mandrel tubing on the entire car and it just bugged me not looking and flowing as well as the rest.  I made a two piece (so I didnt have to remove the axle), mandrel bent, 304 SS 2.5" high polish (yes I said polished but there are some scratches in the bends) exhaust for it.  I used 304 SS band clamps like I had used for the downpipe and cat and used the same hangers as I had made before.  They are mild so thats why theres paint on it.  I'd rather have paint than rust.

and a sound clip.  Suprisingly the exhaust note is a slightly higher pitch and its a decent amount louder.

well, I drew up the crap that I paid someone to put on (being told it would be better than it was) in solidworks, removed bends until I got it down to 5, calculated the rotations, adjusted the program for springback (and the stupid rotation error when rotating over 100* in the bender I got to find out about because I was the first to rotate that far) , and inserted the pipe, lubed the dies, and pressed the start button.  I can make more.

I have been asked to do a downpipe now and I will be making it as close as I can to my stocker.  If it fits well when I'm done I will be able to make you a full exhaust from a stock 3100 rear manifold back.

The price on the cat back would be approxamently $120+shipping not including the mounts or band clamp, just the pipe for 304.  201 will be a little cheaper but I do not have any material right now.  I'll have to get a price for the 201.

That is the cleanest exhaust I think I've EVER seen. Very nice work man! I'd be interested in a catback for sure... maybe a turbo back eventually, once I get a downpipe fabbed up.

For that price!  Hell yeah.  If only I waited 1.5 years before making mine.

Would that be mandrel bet one piece over the axle like you have? And just band clamp to the straight section?? Helllllls yeah! I can take the 201 doesn't have to be pretty just not rust off! Is 201 what stock is?

Yeah stock 3100 manifold back is what I need. I'm thinking metallic cat for it and another 2.5" ultraflo muffler.

Mandrel bent two piece (like I have).  There is a band clamp right infront of the axle.

201 is as close to 304 as you can get.  I believe stock is 439 SS which is worse than 409 which is worse than 201.  We have the salt spray samples showing that 201 is the next best stainless period to 304.

Hey, Thank you everyone for the praise.  I have put a lot of work into this car and I love hearing people that respect what I have done.

I got my new compressor on and got it charged up.  Best vent temp on the way to nitrofest was 30*.

I ran two races at nitrofest this year.  The Density Altitude this year was 2201 feet and there was a 4 mph headwind.  Last year for those that don’t want to look was 1628 feet with no wind.  I brake torqued until it started pulling through (2100 RPM) rather than just flooring it from idle like last year.  I had boost nearly instantly.  My best 60ft last year was 2.410, this year 2.275.  I left the trans in L until the 2-3 shift rather than pulling it back into L after the 1-2 shift and then pushing it back to D for the 2-3.  That was my bad, something I completely forgot.  In the second run I ran Devon who ran his best time ever, a 14.957, and I hit my rev limiter in 2nd.  I did hit a new best 15.069.

Heres the vids

The Slips

So I posted this before but figured Id throw it on here also.  I got my best mileage with the beretta this year. I pulled it out of storage, drove it to my place from my parents (65 miles), drove it to church (45 miles), around town (15 miles), back (45miles), to work a couple times(1.8 miles each way), to the cities where I got stuck in rush hour for an hour, to nitrofest, raced, and back to my place. I averaged 32.7 mpg and this is after the turbo. Keep in mind I can actually gain more by changing two resistors and my fuel pressure and I am running 225s and had about 250lbs in my trunk the entire time.

My car didn’t overheat with the AC on in stopped traffic.  Highest it got was in between the ½ and ¾ mark.

I went back to Rock Falls Raceway with Devon Oct 4th.  I made 3 passes, there is video but you will have to wait a couple weeks.  My best pass of the day was 14.513 at 95.33 mph.  You may notice I ran two times with the exact same trap speed.  The reason is I was boucing off the speed limiter the last 100' of the track.  The DA was 565' at the time I ran my best time.  The first run of the day it was so cool my car was running lean and I spun 8" wide slicks through most of first gear.  I did a burnout until I could see smoke out both my windows the first time to try and combat the cold track, it didn't work I guess and I was the third car on the track.  I spun slightly the second run and not at all my last.

I would have ran a 14.49* at 98.** if I didnt run into my speed limiter acording to simulation.

EDIT*  Thank you to Devon for letting me use his slicks and he was car 706, I was 111.  Still had my numbers on from last time and still do     We had to put on a new passenger side wheel bearing the night before (12AM to 1AM) before swapping tires because it was so bad it literally came apart.

If you could get your 60ft times down you may be better in the 1/4 too.
