How should I tune my 3500 88 gtu?
Whats the best way to get my new engine to run like it should? Its in a 88 5 speed GTU I bought it from a guy in Dayton who had finished puting the engine in and sold it before he got a chance to get it tuned or put a different computer in it. Its starts up fine and runs pretty good at idle, but its only slightly faster then my 3.1 5 speed. So I assume its not running to its full potential.

right. you need to either have a chip burned for your ecu, or run an emulator and tune it yourself. its not safe or smart to drive a swapped car without tuning

I kind of figured that, I have only driven it about 3 miles and parked it at my house. I had to get it off the semi that hauled it here from Dayton. And for the ecu should I just try and talk to someone from wot-tech and see if they can make me something or is it going to be harder then that? I see they have a obd1 tuning service does anyone have any experience with that?

SuperDave is the person you want to talk to about a 3500 tune. You need to check to see which injectors are in that engine. I remember at one point Matt put the 2.8 injectors in and they won't support the 3500.

I remember the car. Interesting. Is it still a MAF car?

I dont believe it is maf anymore, I guess I am not postive on what that would mean though? And to check the injectors do I just need to find a part number on them?

Yep I am the one, I was 100% for sure on it once I talked to him, I am pretty happy with it. I really like the GTU wheels on it, I had never seen them on a beretta before except in pictures they look good. So I will probably hold onto them sorry.
Thanks to everyone else for your help, I got ahold of dave and he is working on a price for the ecu.
