I'd be all over it if I didn't have a Torsen already. I would love to be turning less than 3k on the highway.

Do it and sell me your Torsen.
Don't the newer transmissions come with LSD's?

6 sp in a beretta?
I dont remember seeing any threads about this a year ago, but that's when I did my manual swap and I saw 6 speeds on ebay for good prices and I knew it would bolt up but I went with the 5 speed for the 3.94 and the LSD.
If the 6 speed cables and shifter are used and custom axles which have already been done for the F body brake upgrade, it should be too difficult. Custom mounts for many different uses have been accomplished by people on here so that shouldnt be an issue either.
If I ever finish my current plans and need a new project down the road I may think about this as my MPG from the auto to the 3.94 is about 33/28 to 26/22.

It sounds like you need a tune BAD Mike...
I was getting 30mpg in the Z26 coming back from BFest07, with speeds ranging from 75-80.

The 6spd isn't going to drop your top gear RPM's much at all. It's still way higher than the 4t60-e. So not that great of an upgrade.

how could it not drop your highway rpms? i really dont think the gears are that high...are they? someone on the GA forums said at 75 mph the rpms would be around 2100 to 2300. my Z at 70 mph is at 2500 to 2700 rpms.

There is something wrong with your transmission then... it doesn't sound like it's going into overdrive.
When my car was an automatic, it would be around 2100 at 75-80, give or take.
