Ok i took a look at my intake manifold on my '93 3.1 and found this little square plug behind the T-body.  J/W if that would work to put in a Nos injector in it, or is it there for some other reason? I'ts a little square socket plug on the front side across from the egr.

Hmm. Take it out and look for yourself. I have no idea though if the threads would be the same for a nitrous injector...... So it might do you no good anyways.

Probably just take off the manifold and drill/tap where you want it or the TB would be best bet.

And it's N2O, "NOS" is a brand of nitrous kit. People say "NOS" thinking it means nitrous. Some boards will flame you pretty bad for calling nitrous nawzz... Nitrous oxide is N2O, or just call it nitrous. ;)

Yeah i hear ya i knew what it meant/is but i always screw up the spelling on it so i just use NOS it's easier for me but ok i'll try nitrous.  The people i hate are the ones who confuse it with nitromethane fuel.

But anyway... Back to the tech stuff.  IYO what Hp shot do you think a 3.1 with 94,000 could take maybe twice a month for about 10-20s?

No no no, you're doing it all wrong. You don't start off small to see what the car can take, that way you never find out exactly how much it can do. You always start out big. If you end up blowing out your injectors, plugs or gaskets, you rebuild, and go a step down. Repeat as necessary.

Why not just start big, if you blow it up build the engine to take bigger....even better

Rule of thumb is half the hp it makes is the max on a stock good runing engine. So for a 3.1 is what 140hp/2=70hp. So a 75hp shot would be safe if:
1) motor is runninig well, no issues at all.
2) the setup is done right and tuned.

3100_modified has a 3400 and I think it's stock and he is running a 100hp shot. Probably 100hp would be ok, but if you have an auto transmision, I'd worry about that first.

If you want your auto to last I'd say 50hp shot tops 75 would probably be hit or miss on the tranny lasting..

Do you have an auto or manual?

Just out of curisity, why are you nitrousing your car? Just want a better quater time? Unless you actually drag your car for money, nitrous is a huge waste. It only gives you power for a few seconds, and costs a fair penny to fill back up. IMO you're better off spending $200 and your time with other mods, most of which won't continually cost you money to work.

Nah mostly not to use it.  I have to show this basterd i work with.  He owns a '02 Cougarand we are competing as to see who has more horses i'm getting a chip so he's getting a chip i get exhaust he gets exhaust but my money is on he won't go for nitrous.  I have to keep it to make the engine last in case we get involved enough to dyno them both in the end.  The only issue we have is they are both our daily drivers and if our insurance finds out we're screwed.

actually i'm curious how do all of you deal with your insurance companies?  Is the car classified as a show car or do you just not tell them and hope?  or do you guys have special companies.  Because most insurance companies call engine or performance modifications grounds for an instant voiding of your insurance.  He said the only way he could see it working is if it wasn't going to be driven hardly at all.

I never report that kind of stuff, although the things I have done were minimal, intakes, exhaust and the like.

Wow, great reason for nitrous
