Water Leak places in the North East

Post by Z26 performance »

I know this may seem like it should be in the Tech section. But my question is specific to the North East. I'm looking for places that can fix the water leak in my 95 Z26, but its really hard to find anyone who can. There doesn't seem to be too many places, and I dont have the time, energy or expertise to find and seal the leak myself. Does anyone know of any places in south east Pennsylvania that knows how to properly fix a water leak?

Any help would be great.

Any good body shop should be able to, but few will want to help you for anywhere near a resonable price.  They all want to do the easy insurance stuff that is big money.

If you get brave we are here to help you.

It is leaking into the drivers side footwell and partly into the passenger side I believe.

I've noticed that the top of the carpet isn't wet really, just the lowest point, which is where my feet are.

It hasn't seemed to get wet in the passengers side recently though. But who know whats goin on under the carpet.

Thanks for taking time to help me guys.

If you want to find the leak the carpet will have to come completely out.  It is likely leaking down the firewall in the front.

Sometimes a really poorly aligned door can cause a leak.

A lot of people are telling me there could be rust. I hope not. Otherwise I'll have to take it to a body shop.

How hard is it to remove the carpet? Or how do you do it?

Rust is always a possibility with water and metal, but most do not rust very bad.

To take out the carpet you have to take out the front seats, center console, and the plastic on the floor near the doors.  After that it should come right up.

Issac Hayes can give you some good info since he is in the middle of putting his interior back in and has the same style interior.
