My New Ride!!!

Post by 95BerettaBase »

Well, I figured since I'm selling the Tahoe, I'd start to look for something different. It had to be fun to drive, decent on gas, and it had to be a car. So, I started browsing craiglist for vehicles and came across this '03 Mustang GT. Its a 2 owner car, the woman I bought it from bought it in '07 with 42,000 miles and sold it to me with 138,000. She drove it to Kentucky, Illinois, and several other states for her job in sales so almost all of the miles are highway miles and it shows. The body is near perfect with a few stone chips on the hood, it was stored in the winters, and everything was repaired as it needed it. The interior is in perfect condition other than a small scuff on the driver seat from getting in and out. She told me it had an aftermarket exhaust, but she wasn't sure what kind. After I bought it, I took it to a friend's house for him to look at it. He is a big Mustang fanatic and has owned several of them. After a few minutes of him checking it out, I was informed it had a Flowmaster catback exhaust, welded subframe connectors, UDP, and a Centerforce clutch. So here are a few photos for now until I can get more.

Looks pretty nice. What is sitting next to it in that second photo? The black car w/ the gold pinstripe?

I've been a lifelong Ford hater, but my inner gearhead still has eyes for a nice car...especially a fox chassis Mustang.

2.2H8TA --- Next to it is a '76 Pontiac Grand Prix. It was in pretty decent shape from what I could see. They planned on listing it on craigslist the day after I bought my car.

berettaboi --- Thanks!! I was thrilled once I found out there were some extras. It made the deal that much more worth it.

BerettaLove32 --- Thanks lol. I have always liked the look of the 99-04 Mustangs, I like that it isn't too round, but actually has some nice lines.

Koots --- I have never been a Ford fan and have always yelled at my brother when he bought something outside of GM. I remember riding in my friend's '99 GT back in high school and I just loved the feeling of it. I was originally looking for a 90-93 Fox body, but I wanted something a little newer.

BerettaGTZchick --- I was actually looking for a hardtop, but this deal came along and I couldn't refuse it. I do a lot of highway driving so it will be kind of relaxing to have the top down and the radio up.

I got the windows tinted the other day. Limo tint in the back window and 20% on the sides. I love it.

Sorry, not feeling it... You know what the Camaro guys say: "Mustangs are like tampons, every pussy has one!" haha

That's alright, I know a lot of people aren't a fan of them. I like it because its fun to drive and doesn't kill me on insurance. I would have loved a '98-02 Camaro, but I hate the look of the front end. It reminds me of a Chrysler Concorde.

I like those Mustangs, they are a bit on the common looking side, but they're still a neat car, and the GTs run pretty good.

Should have looked at these though, if you don't like the 98-02 Camaro's.

I've always loved the WS6, but all of the ones that I do find for sale around here are priced too high. The Mustang was priced under blue book by about $700 and I got the seller to go even lower after a little talking. Not to mention the engine in the later model F-bodies are tucked halfway under the firewall and are a pain to work on. I'm happy with the Ford.

Figured I'd post several updated photos of the Mustang. I've mostly just been driving it. I have added a Mach 1 grille delete, Mach 1 chin spoiler, CAI, and a shory antenna. Next it will be gett lowered and I'll also install Spintech mufflers to replace the Flowmasters.

And my absolute favorite of it parked in the garage. Not bad for 142,000 miles.

Well, it looks really clean. :pardon: ...And at least it is a manual. As for the rest, well "If you can't say somethin' nice, don't say anythin' at all." I've driven a few of those cars. Worked on a couple of them too -not much easier than a fourth-gen Camaro. Neither are much fun. They do handle really well, at least on dry roads (in snow, they are worse than a third-gen Camaro). I'm not a big guy, and the foot-wells are too narrow for me. Beyond that, I won't say here because it wouldn't be polite. The main thing is that you like it, and it sounds like you got a good deal on it too. :good: I notice in your sig you say it is for sale though... :P

Yea, I had it for sale for a few months to see if there was any interest in it. I decided not to sell it because I have too much fun in it.
