3100 Help!

Post by 90GTZHO »

okay i searched around 60* V6's web site and found nothing about this.  my 94 base has the 3100 obviously, but i found a 2002 Malibu with a 3100 LG8 and was wondering, how much of a gain would i be looking at if i did a top end swap with a LG8 to a L82?  would the gains be worth it?

I mean, its a big port 3100 versus what i have now a small port 3100.  im sure i'd need the heads, but i hear they are better anyways.  would i gain much from this powerwise?

3100 Help!

Post by IsaacHayes »

lol. I think I might be going with 3400 heads, lower manifold, and 3500 plenum on my 180k 3100 very soon. A lot more work, but hopefully I'll get at least 20hp if not more.

The 3500 top takes more work still, but I think it will be worth it.

Going to have to get a 3wire ECT sender and re-wire my engine harness with the 3400 heads since they don't have a provision for the other sender...
