Bi-Y header, removed from low output Quad4 that was in an Oldsmobile. Only place as far as I know to get this header, supposedly wasn't used in the Pontiac or Chevy applications. Yes, it's off the low output motor, but it is an improvement for any Quad4, even H.O's. This is not a cast manifold.
Replaced 2" pipe from the collector of header which leads to a 2" pipe i replaced my cat with and for 22 dollars at Napa you can get the pipe that goes from the cat over your rear axle to your muffler. Then I used a stock-fit dual outlet turbo muffler from Napa with chrome tips top finish it off. It's mean, and a HUGE improvement over stock.

That was quoted by a guy on the berettastuff forum. I'm thinking about going with the header that he's talking about. What are your opinions on this?

Thanks
-Steve

Junkyards are gonna be your best bet for that part, HOWEVER, even though the manifolds are more "header-like" than a newer HO manifold, at least in looks, there isn't really a proven gain from this.  Thats why most places just advice porting the 91-92 Cast HO manifold, like Mantapart does.

IMHO, its gonna be a lot more pain than gain with an 89 Calais LD2 "header".

a better idea would be to cut the ld2 header up about 6" from the flange, then follow the same lines, but with a 1 3/4" step in it. then finish it off with a 2.5" collector leading to a mandrel bent 2.5" exhaust. THAT would be alot better. =)

90BerettaGTZ has the correct idea.  Perhaps he is a member of the Quadfourm?

Anyway,  People are running 14's with either the HO or LO manifolds when modified.  No one has dyno'd between them for actual results.

Has anyone tried a header off a 2.4L engine?

Also there are headers for the 3400 that will prolly fit the 3100.

As far as TwinCam 2.4L headers go, they won't fit directly... Different Bolt Patterns.

They look to be the stock GTZ rims. I think they're 16x7.5 [or was it 7?] with 205 rubber.
