Centrally located in the heartland, Des Moines, Iowa, has a metro-area population of nearly 600,000 and is the capitol of the state. With as many attractions and offerings as previous BerettaFests, Des Moines would be a worthy home of the annual meet in 2015. The area is traffic friendly while offering many dining and entertainment options, scenic drives, go-karting and drag strips within reasonable distance, if you so desire. There’s plenty to do around the city and we’re sure you’ll have a great time getting to know the state and have many opportunities to see that it is much more than just cornfields. If you're up for the drive and enjoy movie locations, you’re somewhat in the neighborhood (3 hours each direction) to check out the Field of Dreams while in the state.

For those who can't make the drive, Des Moines is also home to an international airport, making in and outbound flights easy and cheap for those who plan in advance.

When’s the next time you’ll be in Iowa!???!?!
We currently have two great hotel locations in mind. With easy interstate or highway access, many nearby dining options and solid rates for quality hotels.

Ledges State Park (great spot for group photos and hopeful picnic/car show location)

o Free time, explore Des Moines' great selection of dining, local breweries, music and sporting events. Possible group-rate package to Iowa Cubs Triple-A game if interest exists.
• Saturday
o Scenic cruise to Ledges State Park. With its distinctive geological and archeological features, breathtaking views and vibrant history, Ledges State Park is a nature lover's paradise. One of the very first state parks in Iowa, Ledges has been a must-see Iowa attraction for decades. In addition to natural beauty, several structures built by the Civilian Conservation Corps are a must see- from an arch stone bridge to a shelter in Oak Woods, stone trail steps and a shelter in Lower Ledges.
The main attraction at Ledges is the canyon drive. This winding one-way road along Pea's Creek offers motorists breathtaking views of the canyon and Des Moines River Valley. Sandstone ledges rise nearly 100 feet above the floor of the stream bed. Along the canyon drive, park visitors can stop for a picnic, wade in the stream and enjoy the colors fall foliage offers.
o Car show /picnic/group photo – at Ledges State Park
• Sunday – Last day, final goodbyes, re-packing and driving home.
