Got the block back today. What a hair brain mess that could have turned into. Good news is, they had me oversee this time to make sure it was done correctly. Now that they are all in, i need to get the cam plug reinstalled and get this beast assembled! I also got the intake manifold droppex off at a local welders shop to get the adpater plate welded on to it. So this weekend, im hoping to make some progress on it.

I have to say I'm amazed at how far this car has come since you bought it. I'm sure most people would have given up on it. Keep up the good work man.

Also, how come everyone hates the garnet interior so much? I loved mine.

So, i have the intake manifold back from the welders, and i got that lined out. Now, i just need to do some clean up on it and make it pretty. Hopefully, when im done with it, it will look more stock than it does now. Its just gonna take a little time is all.







I plan on making sure the port opening on the intake manifold is matched all the way thru. Im also working on the paint job for it. Was thinking of carving a bowtie into the ribs, but still not sure.

I took some pics of the exhaust when i was working on it. So far, all i have installed is from the base of the down pipe, the new cat, and right behind it the resonator. The pipe makes its way around the gas tank and ends just before the axle with a "turn down" to keep the heat from burning a hole in the brake hose. I should be able to get the rest of the exhaust finished up before the engine goes in, we will see. Try not to laugh at that blue paint, it was kind of a joke/only method for protecting for the weld. Note, i did not do the welding on this. A family friend offered to do for me, since my access to my dads welder is kinda limited now. It was done with flux core wire.





Put a band clamp on to make the system easier to install or remove. Most likely gonna have a second one just over the axle. Yes i know, its all pieced together, sue me



Temporary till the rest is finished. Although, the sound is growing on me, minus the fact it leaked where it was not welded around that turn down (that incidently doesnt fit).



I fixed the leak problem by using a proper turn down that actually fits.



And as everyone knows, heres my newly acquired FE7 springs for the front. Time to get rid of the 4wd look! More on the way.

I started painting this, then remembered that i had to get the TB adapter welded on still lol.



Im gonna do my best to get some work done on it this weekend. Im running out of time to get this done

Hope you get the rest of the exhaust done soon, damn turn downs are sandblasters. What springs are you going to use in the rear?

Still working on that one Jon. Also working on that Money. Prolly just a set of Fe3 springs like Jon was suggesting.

Got the block mounted, cam plug installed, painted, crank dropped in and 2 slugs dropped in last night. Dont have pics of the pistons in yet though. More happening today.

I have to say at least the shop appears to have done a decent job cleaning the block and crank... I know it was not that clean when you started.

My Delcos are nice and stiff. They should feel about the same as those fronts. I will tell you that they make the car sit high though.

Well that's the issue... He has FE7 front springs so he needs something like FE3 for the rear otherwise he will have rake like a hot rodder...

Mine are listed as FE3(stock replacement for the Z26). I would say that it will be raked.

If they are aftermarket they are not FE3 spec... They are FE1 but they are just listing them as fitting as well because they do. Aftermarket companies did not make varying spring rates and heights as GM did from the factory for each setup.
