Dew strip removal

Post by CorvetteBeretta »

I'm going to have a crack at a parts car tomorrow, if the dew strips are good I want them. I'm assuming I just have to remove the interior door panel and the door handle cover. 2 bolts and some tabs I have to bend? any help would be sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!

Three screws that I remember(for the outside piece). The window must be down as you know. I had to use a micro ratchet for those magnetic screwdriver bits(with a #2 Phillips bit) because the 90 degree screwdriver wrenches are too long. You have to push the glass toward the inside just to get enough room.

But if you dont care about the inside skin structure, why not just drill some holes to lessen the risk of damaging pull those parts?

Junk yard or custom fit a similar profile strip like I did. There is no such thing as NEW Beretta dew strips unless someone has them stashed in a storage locker somewhere unused.

WHY???????????

I FOUND A SOLUTION THAT'S RENEWABLE! They are still making the weather strips that I'm using. Find OEM ones and you just have more 18yr old dew strips that will go bad and you will get sad about when they do.
