90 Beretta Indy 500 Yellow 4-Sale
Hello Beretta forums,
I always been a huge fan of Chevy Beretta's. Ive owned a few such as: two Red 88 GT's, one Blue 96 Z26, and one white 91 Base model Beretta that I hooked up and customized,,,And now I recently found this all original 1990 Beretta Indy 500 in Yellow (Rare). I'm not only a Beretta fan but a huge Chevy fan period. Ive even owned a few corvettes and camaro's as well. I am also currently restoring a 1976 c3 corvette as we speak.
From what I hear, GM only made 1200 Yellow Beretta Indy Pace Cars , and 700 of them had the digital dash cluster. I still have the brand new door stickers that car originally came with. Yes the car is a small project but has tons of potential.
Anyhow, the car came from Texas which I had shipped it to my home town in Williston park NY. I am not positive how many owners had the car but I plan on giving it a car fax to find out. I initially intended to restore the car for my step daughter as she is a new driver. However, plans changed and we decided to get a car with a few more safety features such as air bags and a car with all wheel drive for the snow season. I bought the car thinking too much of how I loved the car and not what was best for my daughter.
I recently registered the car and am waiting for the new title in my name. At this current time I'm just putting out some feelers if anyone might be interested in buying this car. It will be available in about 3-4 weeks or by the time the new title arrives. It currently has 127k miles. The car is currently insured & registered in my name and available for test drives. Im currently driving it a bit myself.
Pros;
Runs & drives very good
brakes are excellent
Exhaust is good
Interior isnt bad just needs some good cleaning
new head liner was put in
Heater works great
have original INDY stickers brand new
Tires are still have decent tread
Rims are in very good shape
Glass in car is good
The car has no mods done (all original)
Cons:
Car needs a full paint job. lots of fading, chipped and scratched paint in a few spots. Clear coat is fading.Needs light body work
Also the front clip appears to have been repaired at some point in time and the body guy did a bad job of lining up the front fenders. Also the paint doesn't match.
Rear spoiler is cracked and needs to be replaced
the radio needs to be replaced (works but you can barely hear it) Also needs speakers
May need front struts, I hear some squeaking coming from the shocks.
Needs weather stripping throughout.
digital cluster needs lights fixed
the dash and door panels need repair
I will be going through the car a bit more when the weather clears up here in NY so Ill have more info on it shorty. I also will be giving it a oil change and all fluids changed. Ill be cleaning up the interior a bit as well. I probably wont drop much money into the car at this time because I'm hoping to find someone who wants to fix this car up for themselves. No sense in putting money into a car I don't plan to keep. If I dont sell before the winter Ill be storing the car in my heated garage and until the spring comes around. If I decided to put money into the car then I'll be asking a whole lot more.
Once the title comes in I plan to list the car on ebay & craigslist. You have first dibs on this rare yellow indy, dont let this one get away.
Im looking exactly what I paid for it $3650 includes the shipping I paid. If I fix this car up and looking mint of coarse ill be asking a whole lot more.

That is a lot of money to have invested in a car that needs ~$4000 worth of work to be in the $5000 -$5500 range.
A solid Number Two (by accepted appraisal standards) Pace Car replica might garner those numbers on a good day, but that is about it.
IMHO you paid "a little" too much.
Just to strip it, line it up and paint it PROPERLY is $3500 at least.
Honestly, with what you have right now, and what it needs, it's a $2000 car at best.
Good luck with it.

Thanks for the reply. I already had a guy who's been searching for this car for quite sometime wanting to buy it tomorrow right on the spot. These cars are very hard to find on the east coast. People gladly pay a bit more out here trust me,,,just like I did. I'll give you an update sometime tomorrow though. Thanks again.

ROFL!! That car has been around for years and never sells.pces2008thomas wrote:https://www.carsforsale.com/vehicle/details/1125496
And yours is a LONG way from what that one is. Not to mention 120,000 miles.
But it's your money.
We DO KNOW what these cars are worth, and it's not a lot unfortunately.

Hell an original Pace Car Convertible barely drew $20,000 at Barret Jackson.

Re: 90 Beretta Indy 500 Yellow 4-Sale
NO!
I'm suggesting you have perhaps a little too much money in a car that will never be worth more than a nice Daily Driver/Number 4 car.
It's been hit, not repaired correctly, and has numerous cosmetic challenges that will hurt it's value no matter how much you continue to invest.
And the fact a REALLY nice Indy automatic probably tops out in the $5500 range.
I own a MINT California original, 75k, no rust, never been hit, '91 Quad. It has $6000 worth of paint and interior "fixes". (Dash, headliner, floor mats.)
A car I bought for $2500, flew to California from Canada, and drove home 3100 miles in 2006.
I could command maybe $6000 TOPS!!
Reality sucks on these cars.
They will never be classics and you need to understand that.
You have all the money that car is worth invested in it right now.
Really all an Indy is is a GTU with yellow or teal paint and some goofy Decals, that are readily available.
Anyone can recreate one. They are not VIN associated.
Good Luck with it.
