Just got a good bath today so its now allowed to park in the garage to get some things repaired
Also got those ugly seat covers off. Looks soo much better. Missed the GTZ interior over the years...
Funny thing about that Drivers seat... i got this one about 6 years ago from a GTZ at a junkyard which costed me over $200 just for the seat. Thats some money for a GTZ seat but it was MINT and still looking good now

Looking even better now. Ouch on the seat, but they must be crazy rare over there. Nice interior!

Thanks! And yes they are rare, well atleast in good condition. This one was like new... and i was sick of the damaged one. Now i got the whole car for almost the same money
Its now parked in the garage and is waiting to get some things done.
Will keep this thread updated

So finally some updates... I had some free time and motivation yesterday and today. Some day i noticed that the coolant level was low and checked if theres enough coolant in there... and well, there wasnt. So i drained the old one, cleaned the radiator and flushed the engine with water... and put the new coolant (mix 50:50) in it. Also had to do some wiring for the O2 sensor cause the wire was completly melted, lol. I guess that was coming from the 4-1 header i had installed for some years. When idling it somethimes was stalling for 3-4 seconds and then idled normal... i remembered that i had this also before i sold the car. So new wire solved the problem
While i was at i checked the sparkplugs and swapped back on my W41 idi cover i had in my basement. Also swapped headlights and changed some broken bulbs. Random stuff...
Thought i'd upload a idling video. I love that lope of that little 4cylinder...

And today i thought im going to take a look at the exhaust... i already found out that a stud on the exhaust manifold where the downpipe mounts to was broke... so i took out the exhaust manifold and fixed that.
While i had it out i thought i could do some port and polish on the exhaust manifold cause i was thinking about do build a custom downpipe.

I got it smoothed out some more but forgot to take a picture before swapping it back on the car
Oh and about the downpipe... i was thinking something like that:
Doesnt look too special but pretty simple... it lines up pretty good. Needs 1 or 2 cuts more to fit perfectly... and just have to cut off the old pipe off the mount and weld it on there. Its a 2.5" pipe that will go with a custom made 2.5" exhaust then.
Also noticed that my CAT is trash... its broke somehwere cause its rattling at idle and hear it when im under the car shaking the exhaust...

Bet the flow will be much better now. Going to get a Magnaflow cat?

Yeah im pretty sure it will, especially when i get the downpipe ready to swap in.
Yes I think it will be a magnaflow kat... Even though i have to say that it sounded pretty good some years ago with a glasspack in place of the cat on stock exhaust I also have a dynomax bullet welded on right now but maybe its too loud then with the 2,5" exhaust. So i have to look which Route im going.

Sounds good(lol what a pun). Shocking that there is now law that makes you have to have a cat there.

There is a law for me to have a cat, but my 96 runs without one quite a bit of the time...

Well, if the car comes with a cat from the factory, you gotta have to have a cat on there but well... some people dont care

The same here. Cops do ask if you have one, but if you don't you can just say that you bought it that way and they can do nothing.

Good thing you are opening up that manifold and making a new DP. Those two areas are the worst part on a quad exhaust and it seems that very few people address it. The porting job I sell combined with my DP made 12 WHP on a quad spraying a 50 shot.
