Cam sensor replacement

Post by Money pit Beretta »

Is there some trick to take out the cam senor on a 3100 without taking off the lower intake? The PS pump gets stuck on one of the runners. The problem could be the 3400 intakes that are on my car. Sure don't want to pull the lower again, that takes me a long time to do.

The PS pump should come out easily... keep wiggling and trying different positions... I've changed mine without even removing the upper.

Swear this engine has some odd ball pump. It was put on by a low buck shop that didn't even bleed it.

On a side note the temp sensor just gave up today. SES light and fan running(Auto Xray pulled the code). This must be the main problem that I've been fighting for a long time.
Thanks for the reply. As the cam sensor is about five years old it will be left alone for now.
