You mean CT doesn't have the awesome healthcare they have in MA?
I think the extra $$ comes from them not pumping more money into the market and causing inflation to rise...
Just a thought...
Which isn't off topic considering everything in racing costs $$.
Enough rambling for me...

To be quite honest, that has worked VERY well for that state...quad4berettagtz wrote:You mean CT doesn't have the awesome healthcare they have in MA?
CT on the other hand we are known as the insurance capital because we have all those pricks who own the insurance companies and rape the crap out of you.
Ah whatever... Eric is retired and obviously has quite a bit of disposable income, and Rodney benefits from that I'm sure since he tune's Eric's car

Re: Interest Topic: BFest 2010 Drag Racing: Heads up Quick 1
There has been a suggestion(s) made to open up the drag race portion to other than just the quickest in the three designated classes (Quickest N/A V6, Quickest N/A Quad, and Quickest Overall Entry), and because I am still of the opinion the Quick 8/16 scenario may be somewhat unworkable if the track is really busy, it may have some justification.
Although I am still commited to the Quick 8/16 as the primary choice.
Perhaps a Non-Swapped N/A Quickest V6 Entry? If that will even fit on a plaque, LOL!
And then what if any mods are allowable?
I can get more trophies so if you have suggestions let's hear them.
Cut-off for anything this year will have to be April 30th, but that is lots of time to get you thinking.

Re: Interest Topic: BFest 2010 Drag Racing: Heads up Quick 1
I remember there being a quickest stock category in the past, but I'm not sure why that got nixed...
I guess this will come down to the same issues the car show classes have... Such as me being exempt from stock interior because I have a gauge outline and T shift handle... And now the gauge pods... I wish some of those things can be overlooked when voting and have those concentrate on the dash, carpet, and seats and stuff like that.
But whatever... if others want to do something like that then cool BUT I will have to say, an aftermarket downpipe/exhaust and CAI or WAI should remove you from the "stock" Category since those should in theory enhance performance a little over stock setups. They are considered bolt-on's
I'm thinking
Quickest Stock V6
Quickest Stock Q4
and if they want...
Quickest Stock I4
Those titles cover the non/swapped limitation and the n/a limitation.

I think you will have trouble find cars that are truly stock, but at this point you could probably consider any 3100 stock... haha

Re: Interest Topic: BFest 2010 Drag Racing: Heads up Quick 1
I suppose it could simply be a class for the Quickest N/A Non-Swapped Entry. That would likely end up being a 3100 or a really quick 3.1 5 speed, as there is already a class for Quickest N/A Quad.
But to be practical where the hell do you draw the line?
And even then how do you stop some clown from putting a 3100 UIM on a 3500?
EVERYBODY can't win!! LOL!
But I'm listening.

Re: Interest Topic: BFest 2010 Drag Racing: Heads up Quick 1
A stock 3100 intake will not fit a 3500... only the large bore 3100 intakes would work, and even then the 3100 large bore is not stock, and Quickest N/A Quad does not specify STOCK or not... you would need different categories with STOCK in the title. GET IT... not just N/A and FI... A N/A Quad is not necessarily a stock quad that came in a Beretta...
And the point that DTM tried to make in the other thread about a 3.1 guy calling foul being up against a 3100 guy, that could be solved by doing engines.
Quickest Stock 2.8MPFI
Quickest Stock 3.1MPFI
Quickest Stock 3100 SFI
Quickest Stock 4 cylinder
Quickest Stock Quad 4
And then on top of that you have your quickest N/A v6, N/A Quad, and then forced induction.
But the way I look at it is, screw that... I get lumped in with turbo 5-speed guys so unless you were to break out the FI category too then I think it would become a big complaining fest. You could have people asking for fastest Nitrous v6, Fastest nitrous quad, and fastest turbo v6 and fastest turbo quad.........
I see where Eric is coming from with the "where does it end comment"
I think the categories we have are fine, but maybe just throw in a fastest stock v6 and fastest stock quad. So ONLY two more categories, and unfortunately a 3100 could walk away from a 3.1 but thats a given... Just like a turbo 5-speed can easily walk away from my nitrous auto...

Well as I said in the other thread, just was an idea. Nice to see it being discussed at least. And the Quickest Stock V6 and Quad idea works I think. As Eric said, you do have to limit it, otherwise you will have 30 trophies and only 25 cars in the running or something. LOL
I am pulling the Z out TONIGHT. Haven't seen it since Dec 2nd, so it should be interesting. Then drive it home and start working on it this month.

Okay...I know I don't race but does it HAVE to be all about who's fastest?
How about a best "rookie racer" award to encourage those who have never tried it before. It could be based on the best overall time, or the best reaction time for the first timers.
Or maybe a "lazy light" award for the worst reaction time. Sometimes having awards for last place takes the pressure off.
Somebody is bound to break something...give out an award for the best breakdown.
Most people have the ability to laugh at themselves...and if they don't...everyone else can do it for them.

Any other input on this?
I agree with a best/worst light award, and a breakdown award... Also we could do a Rookie of the year... But I think I would base that off of improvement over the day, or time compared to a "typical" run of a car of that type, and not just the best ET of them all because that's somewhat unfair.
