Re: So I went to the track today!
I actually haven't seen Rodney for a while.
I think it was just the cool night, upping the shift point to 6800, and the weight reduction that likely made the difference.
Of course all tracks are a little different, and this car has always been quick at TMP (Cayuga)

I thought you said you would bolt 100lbs to your bumper and it wouldn't slow it down when I was complaining about the 25lbs of rotating brake weight. Apparently getting your fat ass outa the seat made a difference.

That may be true, but it's also a N/A number NO ONE is going to get anywhere close to!3X00-Modified wrote: Apparently getting your fat ass outa the seat made a difference.

Re: So I went to the track today!
Don't give me that BS.
If I had the time and money that you've invested into your car into my engine I'm sure I could be doing the same if not similar numbers.
You have a lot of the right parts working together, and to be brutally honest some of us can't afford that level right now so yes that combination is out of our reach.
I got 13.9's before and I'm sure if I had a n/a cam setup and a bit more in the trans I could have done much better.
Just think, you spent well over 2k to go from 14.2's to 13.7's(with you driving) and I was at 13.9 with only $600 in my cam/spring combo and a standard rebuild on the trans.

Re: So I went to the track today!
NOBODY else is stupid enough to spend this much money on one of these silly cars.
Hell I don't even run it competitively any more.
Might get to a bracket race in the next few weeks, but time is somewhat limited these days.

Wanna bet? I'm just a bit tight on the edges right now with the house and such. I will be putting more into my car in the years to come.asylum wrote:NOBODY else is stupid enough to spend this much money on one of these silly cars.

Re: So I went to the track today!
Well more power to ya! I still think a 12 is not out of the question but how much??? Maybe more cam and gearing.
I got talked into this cam after I probably over-emphasized the street ability requirement. If I had it to do over again it would have been alot more aggressive.
This one is about done. It started as a project that became a challenge (obsession?) however I really don't have the time for it right now.
It actually hasn't made a competitive run since October last year. And it appears the Quad is going to PA

Re: So I went to the track today!
Hell I was going to spend more than that for my build and it would have been much slower than any other built car here(I wanted a reman engine). What's the point in building a car anyway? There will always be someone with more money that will be faster. People think I'm crazy to put any mods on a Beretta. Just drive it and get another F-Body. I have fallen into the wierdo group. Screwing around with a car that will never be as fast as the "cool" cars.
Guess life with an F-Body was too easy(lol). I don't fit in anywhere anyway. Not even here. An outcast car is the one for me. Keep pushing guys! One day someone will say"I got beat by something and I don't know what it was or who made it, kind of cool looking though".

Re: So I went to the track today!
Do you know anything of the satisfaction of blowing away 396 Camaro, 454 Chevelle, Boss 429 Mustang, Hemi Challenger, or 440 six-pack Super Bee with what they all laugh at in the Staging Lanes?
And then the conversation that follows in that "you got your ass kicked by a V6 FWD Beretta by 10 lengths?"
Happens to me all the time!
Most '60's/70's Muscle cars are hard pressed to run a mid 14!

^^ very true.
Stock muscle cars are very over rated. Same with stock imports, many of them wont keep up in stock form.

Good luck trying to beat an LS6 454 Chevelle though... hahaha I know they were low 13s right off the showroom floor.

All I gotta say is that's a badass time, and even more reason to get back in shape. Living behind a desk fattened me up.
