New company with 2.8/3.1 and 3100 cai's
Re: New company with 2.8/3.1 and 3100 cai's
Hello everyone!
I'm sorry but yes my website died some time ago due to the yahoos over at Yahoo. I will be building another site soon enough and will have all of the information, pics and pricing up once again.
I don't want to take a step too far forward, but I am going to look at lowering the prices of these intakes. However, as it has been over a year since I have ordered any materials, I will need to see what they are costing these days before a final new price can be listed.
I know that a couple of you have written me in PMs asking about intakes and pricing. Well, I will be ordering all that I need to make the intakes here in the next couple of weeks and production will fire back up! Please let me know if you have a SERIOUS interest in purchasing an intake so I can make sure to order enough parts on this first shipment to accommodate your needs. I will of course have pricing and all that jazz for you before I expect you to commit.
Let me know if you have any questions!

The 2.8 and 3.1 intakes are a 3 pipe setup.
The 3100, 3400 and 3500 intakes are a 4 pipe design.
Honestly, it has been some time since I have put the 3X00 intakes together. I'm pretty damn sure that they are a 4 pipe setup. Don't you have an intake John? It's a 4 pipe isn't it?
I'll try to get some pics up tonight of the different intakes.

Re: New company with 2.8/3.1 and 3100 cai's
Thats why I'm asking... They were originally a 4 pipe design... Then Bman asked me to make him one... I bought 4 pipes but made the intake only using 3 and it fit the fender well better... so I've since modified mine to be a 3 pipe one. As well as I use a K&N 4" straight filter, not a cone with a 5" base... Granted that alone would add $45 to the cost But IIRC you can still make it work 3 pipe with a standard cone filter.
The 4th 45* bend in the fender liner makes it very difficult to fit a filter sometimes as well, AND that last bend pushes out the liner and creates that bump.

I rotated the "joints" slightly to decrease that bulge a little bit.
It won't go away entirely, but it helps.
3 bends at proper angles, though, would be better. For a couple reasons.

That would be nice to have. I ended up with a four piece. I had a kit made for both the MAF and no MAF. Thought that I was going to OBD2 later.
Remember that Styluss?

I think I remember toying with a 3 pipe design. I guess I should shoot for that. I could look at making a "replacement piece" for current kits as well so you all can convert.

Styluss I'll try to shoot you some pics of the pipes I have... Granted yes its a MAF setup so the no maf will just have a longer first part. I also need to tweak mine more to fit up by the maf better.

Intake Pics:
2.8L & 3.1L
3100 & 3400
3100 & 3400 W/MAF
I am in the process of trying to source cheaper piping for these intakes. The quality of the piping will remain the same but the overall purchase price will be lower than what I used to sell them for. I am simply waiting on a reply from the vendor.
Unfortunately, I still have not found a donor car to let me mock up an intake for the Quad cars. Plus, there are 3 different designs on the quad engine placing the throttle body in slightly different locations. this will be the biggest issue. As it stands, The onyl design I have seen for a Quad intake would be a four to six pipe design. Making them insanely expensive. If I were able to source new piping material at the cost I think I can, this would not be an issue...

Re: New company with 2.8/3.1 and 3100 cai's
Ryan, we dont worry about the 2.4TC motor. So that being the case, there is only one TB setup you need to worry about and that is the standard, typical location like mine has. Now, there are still a couple different ways you could do it. Since the 90-91 Quads have the battery in the same place as the V6's, you can route the pipe to the front of the battery and put it down below like the V6 cars are designed. On the 94 QuadZ's, you would just have to loop it up and around the battery and send it down into the fender like the 3X00 motors. Shouldnt be too hard really

Not to "raise the dead" on this thread, but when you get parts and a price. I will purchase a 2.8. pay pal works for me if it works for you.

I HAVE BEEN SLACKING!
I will try to get this knocked out tonight. Year end stuff at work is killing my motivation to do most anything once I get home at night...
