would these rims fit?

Post by ShaneLT(ShaneZ26) »

I was looking around and saw them and I think they would look on my car.

The size is 265/35/R18. These arent the rims i would use just found a pic to show tire size. Right now the Z has 255/50/R16. So they are a bit wider but you think I could get away with it?

unless you have some hellacious wheel spacers i do not see how you got a 255 tire to fit under the fenders without problems. Hell i have 225's with way offset 17s and N-body brakes and my tires are still close to the strut. Honestly, a tire that wide is a waste on a car this small.

lol... tire width fail...

Possibly you have 225 on there now as everyone else... 255 will not clear the spring perch with a stock 16" rim Also a 255/50 would be a 26.1" tire which is 1" over stock height... no way would it fit

Sorry my bad. I only have internet on my phone and touch screen typing. I didn't realize I did that. But yea 225 is what I meant. What is the biggest we can go. I would like to do 18" rim but what width and height can fit? And is there different Max for front and rear?

225/40/18 would be the absolute max in my book.

You can go wider, just keep the diameter small and be prepared modify stuff and play with spacers

Honestly dude, there is no need for a wider tire on these cars. Unless your smokin out over 400hp, there is no need for a wider set of rims or tires. The fastest Beretta on this board is runnin 225's (i think it is anyways, definately not wider though). Most people running an 18" rim have rims about 8" or 7.5" wide rim. I have 17X7.5" and the 225's fit perfectly on them and dont look ridiculous at all.

So if I got 18x8 I would be OK with no mods to make it work?

with 18x8's you may need a spacer depending on the offset. I think you would need to roll them fenders so the tire doesn't rub. At least that's what I think.

Naw, if you go with a 225/40-18, you wont have to roll the fenders. Just make sure the offset is within a couple millimeters of the stock offset.

Rolling the fenders is simply that. Your rolling the inside edge of the fender upward and fold the lip inside back against the fender so when you have wider tires or rims with a smaller offset, the fenders dont cut into the tires when your turning or hit a bump.
