Del-a-lum bushings for 87-93 control arms! **update pg5**

Post by 88_GTU »

Here's a cool article I picked up a while back. All the talk of delrin/plastic bushings reminded me of this. I tried contacting global west about the pieces they made but they didnt seem to remember any of this so I got nowhere. Maybe they'd be more receptive to a group buy. Who knows. Anyway, here ya go:

That stance is so f*ckin' HOT! 8)

Yes, our cars were handsome things for their time... but GM FAILED in the performance dept.

Overall, great find. Will read again.

Yeah, I love that pic too. I usually dont care for berettas without ground effects but that looks pretty sick. It's one of my favorite articles in my collection, and my collection is quite large.

I'm a huge advocate of the GT Bodies. I believe they will look extra sick if done correctly. Like this example. :D

I just looked up the two-piece Topline Etoile wheels they mentioned in the article and:

OMG You can't begin to understand how much I WANT!!!

They look similar to BBS RD's and RF's

I'm drooling all over my desk here!

Yup car craft, sorry I posted as hot rod. I've got a binder full of articles, I get them confused.

Yeah, they really did a number on the suspension. I'm trying to talk global west into making a few sets of those del-a-lums if we can get a group buy going. Send em an email! I figure the more we bug em, the better the chances of making it happen.

this is true, considering our weak-ass control arms. Strengthening them will be quite beneficial to those of us that want to put Konis in there and wanna turn up the dial a bit. ;)

Yeah, my control arm is popping again so the worn bolt on the right side is definitely my front end noise... Once I get a good control arm for that side I'm going to weld the seams and see what else I can do for them.

Awesome news!!! I've been contacting Global West for weeks and working with a gentleman named Doug there. Tonight he e-mailed me and said he found the design specs for the front bushing! He's still looking for the rear but said that if I get him one of my spare control arms that they should be able to make a run of these. I'm waiting to hear back on what else he may need from me but it def sounds like this is going to happen.

I guess my question to you guys is who (if anyone) would be interested in purchasing a set of these? They may be more willing to make some of the other parts they had made back then if we can show them it would be worth their time.

I realize this may be better suited for the suspension forum so if a Mod could move this it would be appreciated!

Jon
