Passport Issues

Post by Asylum »

Got to the Port Huron Border yesterday about noon, presented our documents and information and were directed to Secondary Inspection. No biggy. Nothing to hide.

Wait 2 ho urs, I get alittle frustrated and ask what the hell the trouble is.

Then notice EVERYTHING is out of the car on the ground that wasn't bolted down.

Asked about the 3500 heads, I claimed to have them. Asked about the beer. Duty Free I have the receipt. Asked about the box for Shawn (the CD Player).I had forgotten about the damn thing being in there. MY BAD!!!

Appologize profusely, tell them it's not worth much and came from the USA originally to begin with.

THEN they tell me my Passport is only valid for 4 more months and they require 6 months to allow for medical problems. (Mine are well documented)

Now this is in fact true in law, but is ALWAYS overlooked on short visits.

But not this time. Refused Entry, and forbidden to attempt til October, which is when my current Passport expires.

So have a nice time folks. No Old Man this year.

More on this later I suppose.

Let me know who wins what at the drags. The trophies are still in the car and Barb and I are partying in Niagara Falls for the weekend.

Jon, Kurt and Shane can expect PMs when I get home.

 :x :x

Well, that totally and completely sucks. :| Here in Europe we don't even need passports or borders anymore, except at airports. That does cause several issues tho, but for the most, it's good.

Eric, I heard about this from Sara earlier today, just got here myself about an hour and a half ago. Sounds like they decided to be pricks and enforce the issue, but be damned as to why they had to put you through all that.

Sucks man, was looking forward to see you again.

ROFL. I own a home in Georgia and travel back and forth about a dozen times a year.

But I'll deal with it. Barbie is ubber disappointed, wanting to meet more of my friends, but we are having a ball in Niagara Falls.

I'll be around for next year!!

My boss took his wife to the air port somewhere just the other side of the border not long ago and they gave him a hard time but let him through. depends where you cross i guess and their mood.

Do you ever travel East of Toronto ? maybe we can meet up sometime hopefully i get my 3400 in the Z by then and can try and keep up lol.

Fwiw, Asylum, I will completely vouch for Shawn's (SummitBalt08) character as a buyer/seller. Impeccable.

I have no problem with Shawn at all. Never did.

When all hell broke lose several months ago, he was one of the ones who actually contacted me and told me to do what I could whenever.
