Rsm intake is in!

Post by Canada »

I got my RSM intake in yesterday, I love it. Adds good power on the top end. Car pulled nicely on the top of second, even with four people in the car. The intake went in fairly easy, no idiot lights came on, the cone k&n filter gave the engine bay a nice whistle/growl at mid to high revs, doesnt look to bad below the hood aither. Just wish the price would of been a little lower.

I was wondering if my car has the OBD-II Mass Air Flow Sensor in it, I've got the '95 2.2L Base.  If not would it be worth it to get this RSM Intake, and if I do have it should I still get the RSM Intake for one W/ the sensor?

where is your air box, between the strut tower and the battery or is it between the battery and the engine?

You can tell if you have a MAF by looking between the throttle body and air box.
It is metal, the size of the intake pipe with a wire harness connected to it. If you dont have one it would just be a rubber hose between the throttlebody/air box.

The MAF on 2.8L/3.1Ls isnt metal, its plastic.
As for the 3100, I dunno.  I dont think the 2.2L ever came with a MAF, but I could be mistaken.  Isnt the intake on the 2.2L on TOP of the engine since its TPI?   Or am I thinking of the 2.0L? or both?

Weather broke today and G-Tecked the car today, the intake took .15 seconds off or so and added another mph or so to my trap speed. There was a slight wind that may have thrown times off, had a touch more gas in the car and the stock intake was laying in the trunk, and the G-Tec may not have been mounted as well either. May have ran .2 secs faster. All in all I am happy with the intake, love the sound.

Ahhh, what next....

.15 from an intake? Very impressive. Post some pictures if you can.
