Want some new struts? What brand springs to buy? How much camber to run? What brake pads? What's the best setup for your situation....

Rear brakes

Post by DownSouth »

I've been having a problem with the rear brakes not immediately releasing when letting off the brake pedal. Is this most likely do to ballooning rear brake hoses? Any other possibilities?

Thanks

Any drips on the ground? How is the parking brake working?

I don't see any brake fluid on the ground and appears that there's plenty of fluid in the reservoir.

E-brake is functioning properly.

Time to open them up. I'm still leaning toward the wheel cylinder.

No squeaks and just had the shoes replaced and drums turned.

The problem started before the brake job. It's just occurring more often now.

I'd say they could use a little lubrication and maybe back the adjuster off a little. That's if all the parts are in working order.

do they stick when you first drive it? and especially after dampness/rain? I think some shoe and drum combinations just don't work... My ex-work truck had that issue, clears up after a block or 2 of driving.

Actually, just the opposite. They're not so sticky at first, but seem to get a little worse as they heat up.
