My New baby '96 Z26

Post by tkims117 »

After getting hit by a mini van of doom last week, I was very sad to see my base go. However, I went out to WI and picked up this lovely Beretta! :Yahoo!: There is some cosmetics need to be taken care of but the interior and engine are near mint. Its a 3100 V6 with 150XXXmiles. I need to replace the left fender because its rusting through but has been covered by the previous owner. Also, surface rusting in both rear quarters that has also been covered and treated. Just needs a fresh paint job!

I hate to ask, but if its rusting through on quarters and fenders, what does the underside look like and the rockers?

Thanks for asking! Both driver and passenger side rockers are clean, not even a bubble. The undercarriage has minor rust but isn't hurting anything major.

Nice find. Damn it's the wrong color though, oh well you are still here and still in a Beretta. That is all that matters.

They must have changed something in 96 to help prevent it because the chance of finding a less rusty 96 is higher, at least in the rocker area.

Nice!

I like it.

Now swap that engine out and install a LG0 with a garrett and push 15psi on the quarter mile to get that 12sec slip! :)

Yea I've noticed that too, maybe a different treatment or coating before the paint? I have no idea but I can't complain =]

Nice strut tower brace :). I've always liked the red Zs. I do like BRM a bit more though :P.
