HUH? they are supposed to be torqued to 175ft lbs... That alone should hold it in place the pinched end shouldn't be what holds it there. The ones I have on the N-body setup don't have any sort of locking to them.

Re: Project 91 "SS" 3400/5spd
The L-body ones don't get dimpled either. I know the wife's Subaru and Mazdas & Hondas do, but the Beretta ones are just a lock nut. When I was looking at wheel bearings I saw it is recommended to replace the nut every single time you take it off. I don't even know how many times mine have been reused...it's a lot.
Napa has a bearing in stock I'm gonna pick up after work. The part no. is the same as the SKF one on rock auto, so it should be decent quality.

Re: Project 91 "SS" 3400/5spd
Been driving it all week and thoroughly enjoying it. This car feels like a rocket ship compared to the truck I've been driving for the last year! And it is sooooo much faster than the wife's turbo...instant v6 torque on the go pedal. haha

I do have to say I've been driving mine for almost 3 weeks now and the instant toque is nice... Even compared to the 310ftlbs the Legacy puts down... lol

Re: Project 91 "SS" 3400/5spd
My truck makes like 400ftlbs and all that weight still makes it feel so slow. I'm actually bargain shopping for cheap seat of used aluminum wheels for it and stock height tires to get some of that acceleration back. I should be able to take my rotating weight from about 90lbs to 50-60 and a little less tire height.

Re: Project 91 "SS" 3400/5spd
Yeah, it should help that too. I was getting 8mpg winter and 10-12 summer, but my last tank was 14.9 now that I have the tune dialed in just about perfect. Most of my driving is in open loop because I live and work in town...makes the VE tune very important.

Thats incredible, the attention to detail is mind blowing. As a side note, did anyone notice that girl has a wiener between her chest?

Re: Project 91 "SS" 3400/5spd
Got the car back home last week and I've been farting around with little stuff. Fixed the god forsaken water leak and have been hunting down rattles with the interior stripped. Found several rivets on the door that had loosened up in the last 23 years. I have some SecondSkin Damplifier coming in the mail...it's a viscoelastic sound deadener like Dynamat. I guess I'm getting old. Also wired the headlights for 4-hi with a couple relays like I did on my truck. So on high beam I have two fogs, two lows and two highs. Got my power door locks working just by undoing the boot and spraying with some WD40. Also changed all the lock cylinders so I can lock my doors! Deluxe...I know...

Re: Project 91 "SS" 3400/5spd
I think motortopia.com died...like for good. If so that means like all my picture links will be dead. Balls.
But here are a couple from this weekend. Got the Damplifier all done and added some heat/sound blocker blanket from CSI. Chrome floor FTL...covering it up with black carpet FTW! I put two layers on the exhaust tunnel under the shifter...hopefully that helps. Headers are hot on long trips. Found some more little rattles on the dash and interior panels so I used some 1/16 foam upon reassembly and it's all quiet now. Converted to a heated o2...used my caspers connector kit to make it plug & play. Those are sweet. Also trying out a lip. I think it looks pretty good with the black/gray theme I have going.
