Beretta Taill ights

Hey i have been working on new tail lights for my car and i was wondering what you think of my idea just let me know whether it is something you might like or might not. I am embbedding 300 red LED's into the tail lights i will post pics soon i just order the LED's today.

the only problem is that one they do get expensive not the red LED's but the white ones for the reverse im looking somewhere around 350 dollars worth of LED's plus it take a few hours to drill each hole for each LED

Sounds like a wiring/soldering mess waiting to happen.  I had this idea a couple years ago, but the practicality of doing it has kept me from it.  Good luck though.

for me it is not a matter of time or effort it is money workin at menards for 6.95 just doesnt cut it

What about using some of the large LEDs rather than the 5mm ones?  I guess they'd be more expensive apiece, but the wiring would be easier since you'd have less of them.

i really doesnt phase me  i like a challenge it is not even a real challenge it is just mindless soldering and alignment

Uhm ... $18ish ... 3w Luxeon Lambertian LED.  Just one is basically the equivalent of the factory light.  No drilling required.

Not sure if you are doing it for the look of a thousand LEDs, or if you just want the quick response time like I want.

Also, thought this may be a little late, the Luxeons can be purchased in arrays.
