BerettaFest 2011 Indianapolis, IN Proposal

Gentlemen... Start your engines! Co-organizers Mike Pride and Doug Blair invite you to consider a return to Indy and a return to the Brickyard, where the Chevrolet Beretta achieved its pinnacle of poularity as the pace car for the 74th running of the Indianapolis 500 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS).

The 3rd BerettaFest was held in this very city, and while the vast majority of us weren't there, we have all heard what a great experience it was. The first of many highly populated BerettaFests, the '99 fest set the stage for the next 10 years of such gatherings. An 11 year absence, paired with new people and the chance to see the coveted Beretta Indy Pace car at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum make 2011 a great year to return to America's heartland for a run at the Brickyard.

While BerettaFest 2011 in Indianapolis would give our members a great experience with the usual go-karting, drag racing, and IMS tour which would be our effort's main focus for group events, Indianapolis has a lot to offer the casual BerettaFest attendee.
-Like the NFL's Colts? Go check out Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Colts.
-Want to see where the sports classic "Hoosiers" was filmed? Go check out the Hoosier Gym (http://www.thehoosiergym.com/) or the Hinkle Fieldhouse (http://www.butlersports.com/information ... fieldhouse) on the Butler University Campus.
-Or maybe how about the NCAA Hall of Champions Museum (http://www.ncaahallofchampions.org/index.php).
-Want to do something with the kids or get reacquainted with your younger half? Check out the Indianapolis Zoo (http://www.indyzoo.com/).
-Want to get away and shop while all the guys are drooling at the racetrack? Check out Metropolis mall (http://www.shopmetropolis.com/).
-If there is anything inbetween, or being left out, just check out http://www.aroundindy.com/ to see what the current events are in Indy, what there is to do, and links to even more attractions and activities!

Lets continue to build BerettaFest into a greater event than before by selecting a premier location! Vote for Indianapolis once the polls open on 10/12/10!

It always has been and always will be... Charlotte was a screw up due to leap year stuff.

Sounds great I would think for some of us that haven't ever been or have just begun in the last few years to get more and more into berettas to see some of the history around the car's populatity spike and would be amazing to see a track like that. I have never gotten the chance to see a nascar track let alone one of the most bruital in the game. Got my vote!

Less miles than last year... That will be nice.

And 1,834 vs 1,752 miles... when its that many miles, whats another 82 ;)

82/~23mpg I'll give you the 11 bux in gas extra from Chicago... LOL :)

Traffic honestly wasn't that bad. I think i can think of one spot that me and Ryan hit a big spot of traffic and that wasn't until we actually got into Chicago. And IIRC we hit at a very bad time of day.

What will make the Indy trip better (for me) is that i have two ways to get there from Vegas that are only 9 miles difference. One takes me trough Denver; the other down through Arizona. So my thoughts now are which way is less brutal on my car??? My Beretta was PISSED by the time i got up to the Eisenhower Tunnel last year.

I dont see the problem Ron. You know that you will be coming through Colorado to see me!!! Besides, look at how well your car ran, or was running anyway... after a visit to my place! ;)

Do you have the Beretta running again??
