Relocating IAT Relocating your IAT (Incoming Air Temperature) sensor.

Why should I do this?

Well, ususally, the only reason to relocate it is when you've added a cone filter and removed the stock air box.  Most people leave the sensor just hanging in the engine bay.  This is not a good thing, since the sensor will often get very hot, causing an SES light and loss of performance.  The way to solve this is to relocate the IAT to an area outside the engine bay and all that hot air!

Parts needed:

  • 14-16 guage wire
  • Butt connectors.

    Tools needed:

    • Wire strippers
    • Drill and drill bit

Procedure:

It's pretty easy - basically all you do it cut the wires for the IAT (make sure to leave a good amount on the IAT side of the plug so you can splice it easy).
Then find a good place to mount the IAT and run wires. I ran the IAT to my grille, drilled a hole in the bottom, and mounted the IAT where cold air runs over it.
That's it!  Simple as that!

Have fun with your new IAT location. :)
