If I'm remembering correctly, when i lasted moved my car with a cluster installed my speedo would say i'm doing 90 MPH at 2000 RPMs (give or take 500 to 1k RPMs). Do not run it without a battery. If you can borrow one and just move it to where you want it than that's fine but don't attempt to break the connection or drive it without one.
