URGENT HELP

Maybe the idle needs to be relearned since the battery was dead. The idle can be relearned with a scan tool, or you can drive it around and it will relearn it by itself. Or there is one more alternative: http://www.v6z24.com/howto/idlerelearn That is how to relearn the idle without a scan tool. If t...

95 3.1 restore?

(wrongway @ Jun. 28 2007,19:07)QUOTEThanks, I'm starting on the leaks and will go from there. I thought the 3100 was a 3.1  Lots to learn yet Sounds good. And the 3100's displacement is 3.1 liters but that's just about where the similarities end. The 3100 has different cylinder heads, intake manifo...

Engine Temp Sensor Removal ?'s

Does the sensor have a ground wire? There is a blue (coolant light) and a blue/white (gauge reading) and that's it.

Engine Temp Sensor Removal ?'s

Connecting both ends of the harness connector together just made the needle sweep and come back to C. Note that with the connector from the sender plugged into the harness it wouldn't sweep or do anything. However, with the harness connector grounded I was able to make it go all the way to H and put...

Engine Temp Sensor Removal ?'s

I wouldn't jump power to it.... What I said I was going to do was bypass the connectors on both ends to rule out bad connectors. Ah, i'll try connecting both ends together and see what that does. I have the 2 wire connector. I haven't seen any 3.1 L bodies with a 1 wire sender. All the J bodies i've...

Engine Temp Sensor Removal ?'s

I swapped out the engine temp sensor (the one in the rear head) and the temp gauge was still not moving at all. I'm thinking about stripping some insulation past the connector on both ends and try jumping it like that. Maybe the connectors are bad... or at least that's what i'm hoping. My car is a 9...

good muffler brands

I like the magnaflow mufflers. Straight-thru design, stainless steel construction and a kick-*** tone. Like the guy above me said, performance mufflers might be a bit loud for your taste so try to find sound clips or local people with that brand of muffler and see what it sounds like. Although that'...

95 3.1 restore?

What would make a Beretta worth fixing? Well..... I can't quite answer that, but my previous car was a Dodge Dynasty. I poured thousands into that thing and was happy with every single penny that went into it. I learned how to work on cars with that car, and it's taught me so much. Now that, in my e...

Engine Temp Sensor Removal ?'s

I don't think I need them now... I replaced the sensor with another one from the junkers and it seems not to be working... Might as well start tracing the wiring already. I was hoping it wasn't the wiring.

Engine Temp Sensor Removal ?'s

Nevermind, got it out and replaced it with a junkyard one. Still reads nothing on the cluster. Sigh.... at least i found a full gauge (oil, batt, and tach) at the junkers and it works perfectly just had to swap my mileage over to it. Guess i'm going to have to get a voltmeter and measure the reading...

Rusted Frame

Ah, I figured the door sills have holes in them. My guess is that dirt and water caused the paint to wear away here, then the dirt and water built up in the rocker rotting it out. Using cause and effect, if you just replace the metal there it will do it again sooner or later. Solution? Drill a hole ...

Engine Temp Sensor Removal ?'s

Alright, so i went to the yard today to grab another engine temp sensor since my temp gauge doesn't work. However when I tried to take it out I notice that I can only get to it with the open end of my wrench. The closed end won't fit over the connector unless I cut it off and I can't get a socket ov...

Motor mount replacement

I know that i've searched on this message board, on bstuff.com and on v6z24.com and came up with nothing so I decided to make a little writeup here just in case anyone else has trouble finding a thread about the motor mount replacement. I have a 93 beretta that had engine flop like a fish out of wat...

Stable air intake

(Jeff P @ Jun. 01 2007,01:09)QUOTEI'm not sure where the breather filter would go on the 3100. The breather filter would go onto the CCV hose. Either you can get a piece of pipe the same OD as the hose and bend it, then put the filter on the end, or if possible, you can put the filter right on the ...
