Re: what did you do to your ride today?

Old Mopars are ok I guess, and these two are both 4spd, but there's no way in hell I'd pay the Mopar tax. Cost twice as much as a comparable Chevy.

Re: Budget LS swap 6spd RWD Z26 project.

There are a TON of little things to do before it's right. But the 10-day forecast looks amazingly good for November, and I'm gonna try like hell just to get it running and moving before it comes back to my garage in the very near future. And if it moves, there will be tire smoke!

Re: what did you do to your ride today?

You can get more light really easily with just a bulb swap...assuming they are typical 9005 and 9006. Plug & play. Sealight makes LED bulbs that have the same focal length as halogens are they are really, really good. I had them in my last Beretta and still use them in my truck and the wife's Su...

Re: Budget LS swap 6spd RWD Z26 project.

Ok. Steering is done for now. Current limitations keep it from being perfect...but I'm gonna roll with it for a bit! I need to do some more research on different racks, but I'm too far behind to keep pissing away more time on it. haha I got the pedals completely finished and made some progress on th...

Re: Budget LS swap 6spd RWD Z26 project.

Working on steering angle and Ackermann now. Anybody know how many degrees of steering angle a factory Beretta has? Mine hits the inner fender at about 35.

Re: what did you do to your ride today?

That's the main problem with a lot of projects... it's a lot to take care of, and there are only so many hours in the day. I got the brakes fixed up on that stupid Blazer. Now I have a suspension squeak driving me crazy that I gotta find. Got 18.4mpg though, that's a lot better than the truck! It tu...

Re: what did you do to your ride today?

I dragged the Beretta back close to the garage at least. I gotta get the brakes done on that stupid Blazer and get it out of there...that's been a nightmare getting it to bleed since the rear circuit was completely dry and it has disabled ABS but the hardware is still there... Snapped this picture c...

Re: The $500 beater Blazer Z69 offroader

Survived another Gambler, and not for lack of abuse. Didn't even break anything...just a big dent from a tree. Lots of other blazers and s10s there...had to be at least a half dozen. I wheeled with a couple of them. The truck was a 350 swap but he was sooooo sloowwww over everything. I had to hang b...

Ever get this mounted?
Yup. And it had about a thread and a half on each end, so that's no bueno.

Re: Budget LS swap 6spd RWD Z26 project.

Nerdy stuff: PCM pinout changes and tune hacking to run a non-stock engine/trans combo. In this case, changing a truck harness and PCM to camaro style to run a camaro tune with T56 reverse lockout functionality, but with engine calibration for 4.8 rather than the 5.7. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v...

Re: New guy from CA!

Absolutely. Nostalgia is a real thing once you hit your 30s. My new Beretta is almost a carbon copy of my first one... aesthetically. Lol The road trip is brave on an unknown car! My wife did the same thing for my truck...CO to NY. And the guy who bought my last one from NY to FL, but I knew m...

Re: New guy from CA!

Saweet. Always happy to see someone snag a nice Beretta. That looks like it's in pretty nice shape! How many miles on it?

My first car when I was 16 was exactly the same combo, but with sunroof. I had a lot of fun in that car.

Re: Budget LS swap 6spd RWD Z26 project.

Pedals in, seat in, column moved, shifter sorted. All seemingly minor things that eat up time.
