Re: Any easy, cheaper ways to increase MPG?

That makes a huge difference. I only get 16-18 most tanks to work and around town. But straight highway it's 26-30mpg.

Re: Project 91 "SS" 3400/5spd

Even though mine is a 91, it's a full R134a system with the TXV out of my 95. I used the info for that when doing mine.

Re: Z71 project 2.0 - 92 from Cali

Sold a bunch of stuff on facebook...still looking for cheap aluminum bullet hole wheels. The blueing came out amazingly easy with my new $19 Horror Fright buffer and some some compound I had left over from 2009's Beretta paint job. Much less work than I expected...all done in maybe an hour? I might ...

Subframes are removeable too, so it's not permanent anyway.

You've got to get one of these things to a Bfest some day...

Stumbled upon my actual camera today and it was beautiful out...so I snuck away from the honey do list to record a datalog and check the A/C functionality. It's amazing the quality photos you can get with a real Canon camera! https://i.imgur.com/0PyQIpd.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Sw22133.jpg https://i....

Re: Any easy, cheaper ways to increase MPG?

I got 14.3 on my last tank...ouch! But that's the tank that sat over the whole winter with some warmups and lifter tick checks.

Still better than the 7-8mpg I get with my truck in the winter, or the 12ish I get in the summer. Haha

Re: Datalogging and/or tuning your OBD1 Beretta

The bin definition decodes the the actual tune calibration from hexadecimal to English. The datastream definition does the same for the logging data to see what is going on while the car is running. As far as location, the 91-93 have the computer behind the passenger kick panel speaker. Not sure abo...

Re: what did you do to your ride today?

Actually had sunshine today! So I took mine to work and filled it up after getting groceries. 14.3mpg on that tank...but it was over the whole winter with warm up idling, etc. Still better than the truck does even on road trips. haha

Earlier OBD1 computers don't get reprogrammed, you just swap your PROM calibration in the socket. Your 94-95 OBD1.5 is a different animal.

Re: Blackened Windsheild Trim

Mine is doing the same. At this point, I think most are. I have thought about peeling it all off and just hitting it with black paint. I can't think of a reason the stainless would cause trouble as long as it was clean and abraded properly. What I don't know is how the corner seams look once the pla...

Re: Z71 project 2.0 - 92 from Cali

The Vortecs are nice, but they have their drawbacks, too. They make a fair amount more power with the better heads and roller cam, and the spider injection is better than TBI when it works right. But they are more expensive to fix, and the OBD2 means they fall under the NY emissions Nazis umbrella. ...

Re: Z71 project 2.0 - 92 from Cali

Yeah, chevy emailed me about their $9000 off MSRP for year end 2018s, but it would still be $40k for something I only drive a few thousand miles a year. Plus the new ones seem so bloated. I drive a friend's 2014 and the DBW throttle and auto just make it a slug. I'd have to mod it immediately. Haha
