Re: Budget LS swap 6spd RWD Z26 project.
Lots of daily driving. It's running/looking great and I made some more upgrades. Set the sloppy mechanics group on fire with my cut & welded control arms...but they work awesome. Gained me the steering clearance I needed, and added 2* of caster and about a degree of camber. Handles AWESOME now. ...
Re: WTFord!?
Ewwww a Ford. Driving it has got to be an experience though, for sure. I'm not a fan of the new-new stuff either. My wife's 2018 Subaloser already has electronics doing screwy crap. And even though her 2013 was Cruze was nearly problem free, it did set the check engine light for a bad MAF when the o...

Re: Budget LS swap 6spd RWD Z26 project.
I bought custom Moser axles to fit my 5x100 drag wheels directly without an adapter and give me more fender well room for the slicks. I ordered them with Explorer brake pilot and Beretta wheel pilot and dual 5x100 and 5x115 pattern, so I could eventually fit 5x115 DIY beadlock drag wheels. $600 was ...

Re: Budget LS swap 6spd RWD Z26 project.
Daily driving the car for a month or so last year made some needs for winter upgrades clear. And drag racing launches required new adjustable shocks so I picked up some Vikings. One of my brake master cylinders was leaking and I needed to adjust the bias bar, so I took out the dash and wired up a 2-...

Beadlock wheels for cheap with no welding. You know, laser jig for drilling...tap with a drill press...plastic mockup...laser alum rings. The whole 9 yards.

Re: The Oil Catch Can
So, where is your crankcase getting fresh air? I'd assume it's not then, correct? The factory line that goes to the air intake tube is the one that supplies fresh air to the crankcase. It pulls from that tube so that you're not bringing dirty air in to the crankcase. If your PCV is set up correctly ...

Re: Ways through firewall
Best bet would be a bulkhead. I just used these for my car. Drill a hole and use an o-ring to seal the hole.

Re: Budget LS swap 6spd RWD Z26 project.
What year Camaro? The name plate was dead during the LS2's reign. 98-02 were LS1 and the 2010 started with the LS3. The LS2 was only in GTO and Corvette unless it was swapped. If it was from a 98-02 car the whole drivetrain is damn near a bolt-in for 3rd gen. I hate the DBW. It just feels disconnect...

Re: Budget LS swap 6spd RWD Z26 project.
Officially announcing my worst kept secret! I bought an aluminum L33 to throw in the Beretta. It's more cubes, more compression, more cam, better heads, MORE POWER, and less weight. And it has the better gen4 rods, but still 24x crank reluctor so it works with my existing truck wiring and it was onl...

Re: The Oil Catch Can
I saw you both mentioned PCV being on the rear valve covers...must be an MPFI thing. Both my SFI engines had the PCV on the front side. As I recall $A1 mask, the EGR has a table with injector base pulse width vs % to compensate for the lack of oxygen in the air charge with active EGR, but I don't re...

Re: WANTED, GTU/Indy Wheels, Dead or Alive
Yeah, sometimes you want what you want regardless of price. I could have bought some used Mustang drag wheels to fit on my Beretta for cheap I'm sure. But I'm being financially retarded and widening some 15" Lumina APV sawblades with DIY beadlocks. Also, if you haven't tried pirateship .com, yo...

Re: The Oil Catch Can
Here's a post that shows how I did it. Cheap ebay catch can, breather for rear cover, vac line from PCV to catch can and catch can to vacuum line that originally went to PCV.

I was also going to suggest car-part. And Searchtempest .com is a quick way to search through all of craigslist easy.

Re: 5 speed swap
You can also use a premade -3AN braided brake hose for the clutch line with the AN adapters. I'd call this a MUST if you want to have fun being stupid. I glazed a clutch in one day drag racing with the stock hose and then went 10+yrs pounding on it with zero problems with the braided line. Tune with...
