Marine speakers in kick panels
Hey there, So I've been kicking this idea around for a while. I've got a spare pair of white marine speakers. And I was thinking about tossing them in the kickpanels. It makes sense to me since its a wet zone, especially here in Canada. My muddy snow covered shoes and boots are constantly resting on...

Re: 96 Z26 UPDATE
Ron are you meaning Alberta wheel? I've had good experiences with them when I used them, but I was using them when I worked at the dealership which was quite a while ago.

Re: Child Safety Seat Anchor point...
Up and down its weak. But pulling forward I'd think it would be plenty strong when sandwiched between the anchor itself.

Re: Child Safety Seat Anchor point...
I have looked at it. Theres about a million different holes in the bottom of the deck. I didnt see a plastic plug, but I'll check again.

Child Safety Seat Anchor point...
Hey guys/girls, My 96 Z26 came with the child safety seat anchor in the glovebox, so I'd like to get it installed. Unfortunately I dont know where the damn thing goes. Im 99% sure I remember seeing them in the rear deck by the 6x9's, but there's tons of holes in there so I need to know where exactly...

Re: Z26 5 speed swap
Yeah I've got no problem using the DHP to remove all the auto crap. Its just much easier to keep the harness intact and leave the PN switch hooked up.

Re: Z26 5 speed swap
Before I went OBDII, I left my switch in OD. But since you're OBDII, the best thing would be to remove the wiring for the automatic, and remove the codes/limiters with a DHP or similar tuner. You could leave the wiring in and the P/N switch on OD or R, but you'll still need a tuner. So when you wen...

Re: Z26 5 speed swap
I'd really rather not screw with the harness if I can at all avoid it. But we will see. Maybe I'll just have to stick with the auto until I blow something up. Likely wont be too long. But if I have to do harness work it will be with the engine out, and I dont want to pull the entire drivetrain until...

Z26 5 speed swap
Dont tell me to search, because I have. Hell, I've done the damn swap before! I just forget waaay too much. Lol. 96 Z26, 3400 swapped. Im tired of the granny tranny and its bullsh|t. The mechanical portion of the swap is no problem. I'll probably use the 92+ mounts again, but I may settle for the pr...

Re: AC compressor seized.
Problem solved. Hit the JY today, picked up a new looking AC compressor out of a 96 grand am. Newer styles have the hose inlet on the top, so I had to make sure it was a 96 model year. Checked it out once the belt was off prior to pulling the compressor and the pulley was MUCH tighter and spun way n...

Re: magnets under the oil pan or trans
Now rather than have a magnet IN your pan, would it still be effective outside the pan attached to the bottom? It would be a hell of a lot easier to clean. Just pop off the magnet prior to your oil change and any metal it collected inside the pan would then drain out with your oil change. You wouldn...
