You've got me wrong. i'm not talking about spring-compressor-kits.
i'm talking about getting the springs compressed/re-set (by a hydraulic press).

you don't need to buy new springs or to cut the old ones. but you can let press them. my brother did the same with the springs of his pontiac firebird trans am 1991.
