Re: Hard to start after fuel injector replacement and other running issues

Gosh, you are having so much trouble with that car. I hope you get it sorted out. But you are learning stuff that may be useful your whole life. As far as cleaning injectors. They don't come apart. I think the only way to clean them is a machine which would pump some chemicals through to remove depo...

Re: TH125C Ratio differences?

Here is a link to another forum that has a list of ratios and stall speeds for various models. It only goes up to 1988 but I hope you find it useful.

Re: TH125C Ratio differences?

From what I remember, when I was looking to replace the th125 in my mini van, there are differences in both the final axle ratio as well as the stall speed of the torque convertor. The junkyard had to look up and cross reference a trans that might work for my mini van. I wound up just rebuilding min...

Re: Harder to start after injector and O2 replacement

My two cents. Ox sensor comes into play after engine warms up so, cold slow start cannot be attributed to that. Since injectors were changed and the then problem started, the injectors or something you did changing them is suspect. You could try and put some gas in the throttle body. If it fires rig...

Re: what did you do to your ride today?

96-Z26, Hit the keyfob to open the doors, lights blinked but doors stayed locked. OMG I had to use the key to unlock the door. Once inside, I found the power windows don't work either. Drove the car to do what had to be done. Once back, checked fuses but they are all good and locks and windows are n...

Re: I can't even keep a floor simple.

Looks like you did a great job on the floor. I personally don't get heated floors. Maybe for floors on a slab.
Does it heat the room or just keep your feet warm?
Pardon my ignorance but then I have carpet in my dining room. haha
But seriously folks, I know I have a lot of updating to do in my home.

Re: Newest addition. 2 wheels old...

All very nice bikes. You own a pair of V45s? What are you doing with all this equipment? haha I had a 84 V65 Sabre. Bought it new, sold it a couple years ago with 14k miles on it. I loved it, hated to sell it but a guy offered a very good price. With all the crazies out there on their phones while d...

Re: Any easy, cheaper ways to increase MPG?

If your gas mileage is the best it can be, shop for cheaper gas. In case you all don't know, Sam's club has lower prices on gas for members. Usually about 25-30 cents a gallon cheaper around me. So does Costco. Also, if you have a Woodman's grocery store in your area, they sell gas cheaper than most...

Re: Any easy, cheaper ways to increase MPG?

RE: Rettax3 "2 MPG is NOT typical results either, but I wouldn't argue about what YOU know and have experienced either, so awesome that you have found a way to increase efficiency that much with such a simple change. :good: What is the actual MPG you get now with the synthetic? How much does it...

Re: Any easy, cheaper ways to increase MPG?

In my situation, driving to work, was low slow miles. The engine barley got to normal operating temps by the time I got there. During winter, my gas mileage was horrible. So I studied up on synthetic oil, (copied text below). After switching, I noticed a 2 mpg gallon increase in my mileage. Maybe in...

Re: Any easy, cheaper ways to increase MPG?

Switch to synthetic oil. In my 92 Beretta, especially in winter months, I gained 2 mpg by using synthetic. Oil is thick when the engine is cold. Synthetics have better cold flow characteristics. Yes it costs more but you can go longer between changes and the better mileage helps it pay for itself. I...

Re: Z71 project 2.0 - 92 from Cali

Good luck with the truck. It looks like you got a nice solid body to swap stuff over to. You have lots of work to do but it will be worth it. I can't believe what they want for new trucks and cars today! As far as the house, once the foreclosures and other under priced properties are gone the market...

Re: 1993 3.1 will not stay running

Since you were working with the thermostat, is it possible the wire to the temp sender is messed up or disconnected?
If it is off, would that cause the car to run real rich and die? Maybe pull a spark plug and see if it is dark from running rich.

Re: Help with 76 New Yorker

When I recovered an 85 Driver's seat, I was able to get the original type fabric from:
https://smsautofabrics.com/
I don't know if they have leather. You will have to have an upholstery shop make seat covers.
I doubt you will find replacement covers for such a rare car but you never know.
