Re: 3800 using 5spd manual trans / flywheel and bolts
What are all the mounts that were use and can you share the link? please PM sent. No off-the-shelf engine-mounts would fit my 3800 the way I Built mine. Very tight down to the subframe, lowered the drivetrain as much as I possibly could -the GTU handles exceptionally well for a car of its' age and ...

Re: Budget LS swap 6spd RWD Z26 project.
Cool fix. One of my Camaros (the 'Vert) has a set of Beemer rims waiting for it, once I wear out (or rot-off) the tires on the stock wheels, and going hub-centric will be easy now that I am turning my own parts too. Thanks also for the heads-up on moser -I can't say they were likely to get my busine...
Re: WTFord!?
Not going to disagree with anything you said there. For me, 2006 is the cut-off for most makes, at least currently. My high-end scan-tool can run up through 2016, newer and I'll need to pay out the nose for software 'updates' -I'm not too worried though, I'm getting bombarded with requests now to re...
WTFord!?
Those here that can read between the lines (Fords suck) may have gotten (I don't like Fords) a few hints over the years (Pinto? 4.0 SOHC Cologne timing chains? 5.4 Triton undersized oil-passages & spark-plug blow-out?) that Fords aren't my favorite auto manufacturer. So, surprise, I HAVE "D...

Re: The Oil Catch Can
^^^This.^^^ I had experimented on the 305 in my 'old' Camaro back in the day, before I had any real idea that the PCV system was more than a glorified crankcase vent. To be honest, while I would still suggest a fresh-air inlet and a vacuum outlet, it is probably not horrible to the engine internals ...

Re: Need 3.1 engine for 92 Beretta
Too bad the original engine isn't fixable, but really cool that you are going to save the car. Any chance you would consider doing a write-up with photos when you get to that stage? Would love to see a good, fresh swap-thread on here.

Re: Budget LS swap 6spd RWD Z26 project.
What year Camaro? The name plate was dead during the LS2's reign. 98-02 were LS1 and the 2010 started with the LS3. The LS2 was only in GTO and Corvette unless it was swapped. If it was from a 98-02 car the whole drivetrain is damn near a bolt-in for 3rd gen. I hate the DBW. It just feels disconnec...

Re: Need 3.1 engine for 92 Beretta
I can't help directly, but I would suggest that unless your engine was in poor condition before the head went bad, if you can't replace the engine yourself (needs quite a bit of tools/equipment to do it, particularly an engine-hoist, torque-wrench, space to work, and time), you may actually be bette...

Re: Budget LS swap 6spd RWD Z26 project.
Very interesting! I had almost forgotten about the aluminum-block truck engines, they just weren't that common. Last month I strongly considered buying a wrecked SS Camaro with a good ̶L̶S̶2̶̶ [EDIT:] LS3/6-speed setup, priced low enough to make it worth-while just for the drive-train. I decided I h...

Re: WANTED, GTU/Indy Wheels, Dead or Alive
:Bravo: Got 'em! A little pricier than I was hoping for overall, but not bad for the current availability and overall economy we have now. Three even came with center-caps and screws, and they are all GTU 'grey', so I don't have to worry about repainting if I don't want to. White inserts might look ...

Re: The Oil Catch Can
I saw you both mentioned PCV being on the rear valve covers...must be an MPFI thing. Both my SFI engines had the PCV on the front side. As I recall $A1 mask, the EGR has a table with injector base pulse width vs % to compensate for the lack of oxygen in the air charge with active EGR, but I don't r...

Re: WANTED, GTU/Indy Wheels, Dead or Alive
Searchtempest is a new one on me -I'll try that. I THINK I have a solid lead on a partial-set. A bit spendy though due to shipping, but such is the price to be paid for the pleasure of living far away from annoying neighbors out here on the moon... :D The last time I had a lead on GTU wheels I could...

Re: WANTED, GTU/Indy Wheels, Dead or Alive
Thank you 90INDYLIN , I do already have some 'feelers' out there for them through that source, and I will update if that pans-out for me, the fact that I don't care if the wheels are 'pretty' may help me there... :D There are some overpriced options through ebay too, but I can't bring myself to pay ...

WANTED, GTU/Indy Wheels, Dead or Alive
NOT looking for the assorted common comments of, "Good luck with that, you will never find them..." or, "I used to have a set, gave them away for 5-cents and a stick of chewing-gum 400 years ago..." and other $#it-talk like that. :) Nothing useful to contribute here, please save ...
