try lucas oil  aditive for knock/tick works great , if its a knock could be your bearings but my z wa...

is it misfiring good well be a random misfire or injectors

have u checked the control arm bushings....mine are bad and it sounds like a clunk also when turning wheel and going over bumps etc,, just a thought  goodluck

do it yourself  my 3.1z26 was easy 2 bolts and good 2 go ,, save that 120 for your pockect  t-body gaskets are easy  be happy its not your intake gasket goodluck
