Re: spring measurement
AR, good talking w/ you the other day but I'll answer this here for anyone else interested- 642 is a Moog part #, its actually CC642, its the highest spring rate they make for Berettas. Replacement for '92 up w/ the 3.1 and a/c Note that in their catalog on all listings it says "except GTZ"...

Re: spring measurement
Barry, I could be wrong but I remember seeing a pic of the Eibachs and the top coils were spaced together really tight and then the rest looked like a stock spring- they'd spot that right away

Re: spring measurement
AR, what year is your Beretta? He ran the last Halloween race at Mountain with the full size 8-cyls, shredded the right front from the middle out- thats why I figured I'd try to come up with something better for a front spring. The company that I contacted to do custom springs needed a 4 week turnar...

real KYB GR-2 ?
I just bought a KYB GR-2 strut from an online parts place- its black w/ iirc a six digit part # starting w/ a 7. It does have a KYB sticker on it. Reason I ask is that I always knew the GR-2 line to be silver in color, also I just saw a pic of one online and it had the KYB part # and "KYB"...

Re: spring measurement
just a little update- I wasnt able to do anything with the fronts, the strut has a weird design where the bottom pigtail is offset. I was going to use a 3.5 id spring but then the strut would be off center and wouldnt line up on top. I just found a company that makes custom coil springs so I'll see ...

Re: spring measurement
Barry, thats exactly the measurements I needed, thank you very much!
MpB, I thought I read that the subframe brace didnt work on automatics? If it does, what does it look like and where does it bolt to?

Re: spring measurement
we are limited to only using stock or stock replacement parts, so a factory strut brace would be legal, an aftermarket would not.

Re: spring measurement
3X00, I remember seeing something on that somewhere, I think they had posted pics too MpB, I can use a stock front strut brace, supposedly a local yard has 2 '92 Sunbird converts so I'll check them out after the snow melts. and yet another question here- the plastic angle spacer that sits on top of ...

Re: spring measurement
yes, just need to get those measurements first- I'm pretty sure the rear springs from a mid '70's GM rwd will work, they use a 5.5 i.d. spring w/ a small pigtail end. I've seen some pics of a front Beretta spring, its uses a larger pigtail. Looking around I've found that a front spring from a 2005-u...

Re: spring measurement
because its on a Beretta!
it just depends on where to cut, you dont want to cut into the understructure and weaken the hood

Re: spring measurement
Barry, that would be great- thanks!
as far as the side skirts go, you guys would know better than me- they were on the car when he bought it
MpB- the hoods are chained/bolted shut so that vent is just a place for the track crew to put a fire extingusher nozzle in if there is a underhood fire
