Paint

When I had my car painted, I had them remove dings and fill in a scratch in the rear fascia, and take all the surfaces down to bare metal so I'd have fresh primer all around (non-ELPO, which is the cause of GM paint problems).  They also painted the new (unpainted) fenders, hood, and GTZ front fasci...

Solenoid On My Quad 4

Is the wire outside the fusebox or inside the dashboard?  If it's outside the fusebox, it's not factory.

It's possible your catalytic converter is plugged.  Have you checked for codes using the paperclip trick?

The compressor also won't run if the pressure is too high.

Engine dies

The first thing to do is check for trouble codes in the car's computer using the paperclip trick if you haven't already.  It sounds like a sensor problem or a vacuum leak.  Check the vacuum hoses for cracks, breaks, or just disconnected ones.  The first sensors I'd probably suspect would be the MAP ...

Stable air intake

I'm not sure where the breather filter would go on the 3100.  As for the piping, you can get regular round piping from auto parts stores, eBay, etc....usually it's a polished finish.  You can drill holes in it for the sensors and put grommets in if you want.  To couple the piping to something oval (...

What's the fuel pressure reading?  Maybe the pump can't keep up.  Could also be your IAC valve I suppose.

Hiya Jim!  It's good to hear you're "Kicking back in California" again.  Sounds like the INDY is weathering okay, huh?  Never realized the sealer could actually break from road (or lack of road) vibrations.  So you get to load and unload the car yourself?  I remember Muff's GTZ arriving in...

A Beretta GTU from Germany

Yep, VERY nice GTU  I think there would be people going on rampages here if gas was $7-8 a gallon.  Though I'm sure we'll see that soon enough, especially in California where they see the extreme lows and extreme highs.

GTZ project updates

Yeah, pretty close...I think the W41 cars had a 3.50 first (as you said), a 2.05 2nd, and a .81 5th.

There is a dimmer switch on the steering column under the dashboard (LH side?) that allows you to switch between low and high beams.  Sometimes this switch goes bad and you get neither.  Happened on my '88 shortly after I bought it. As far as the dash lights, you're talking just the instrument clust...
