Re: Front hub fail
You have the brake grease covered. Sounds like there was still a bit of dragging, I had it too. Makes me think that rubber where the pin rides is dried out and makes the grease less effective. Could be soaking some up. Got to look for my old front hubs. LOL on the 90GT the only way the rears came of...

Re: Front hub fail
Oh boy....bet that is where my problem is. Man those things cost a lot. Kind of did what you did. Replaced the sensors, wheel bearings and even went as far as replacing the brake controller. Also tried to make sure the gap on the front sensors was the same with a feeler gauge. Got to ask: was the ca...

Re: Front hub fail
Had good luck with Wagner rotors so far. Freaken O'Reilly's charges as much as a new rotor to turn them in this area. Just another way to get out of work. On the GF's car Firestone put some cheap dusty pads and junk rotors. One of those rotors looked like yours and it was also on the back side. I've...

Re: head gasket gone
It would be a good idea to change the water pump. It's hard to know if it is in good shape. You don't have to replace it. It is driven by the timing chain though, so if you are going to replace the timing chain(and all that goes with it) now could be the time. My dad had a Grand Am with 245k on a 2....

Re: Corsica misfiring after rain
It's getting just as bad around here, well for Beretta's that is. Lucky to see just one other on the road. Still see a Corsica or two.
So you are waiting for better weather to make anymore repairs? That is going to be a long wait.

Re: Ceramic vs semi metallic, does ceramic get hotter?
It's been a bit strange down here, no snow and a few highs in the 60's. Not normal at all! Most of the time car work ends in November or just a few days before. Talk about over due. Man, the bottom has got to drop out soon. Snow is still kind of fun....but that damn salt comes with it. Oh and that f...

Re: Ceramic vs semi metallic, does ceramic get hotter?
Sounds like the car has had some good owners. Keep thinking about moving on myself. Damn newer cars have tons of miles, cost too much and most people just drive them. LOL it would be like owning another Beretta.

Re: Corsica misfiring after rain
The crank sensor was just a thought. Oh man the torque that they have is nice, sure miss that low end power now that I have the 3100. Did you locate the test lead?

Re: Corsica misfiring after rain
The test lead is on the driver's side. Close to where the main wiring harness goes in the firewall. It's easy to find, looks like a connector with no home(no others near it). Just throwing this out there: could the crank sensor have anything to do with the long starts? For the old 3.1 it is best to ...

Re: Ceramic vs semi metallic, does ceramic get hotter?
It's got to be first on the list. The next would be trans fluid and filter. Then would it be shocks and struts? People seem to think they last forever.

Re: Ceramic vs semi metallic, does ceramic get hotter?
Will be keeping that brand in mind. Not sure on the master, always seems that weakness stays in the back of the mind. Did change it on the 90GT. The only thing not replaced on it was the booster. That thing made you plan ahead to stop. This 95 is far better, but nothing close to the 04 Cavy(which ha...

Re: Ceramic vs semi metallic, does ceramic get hotter?
That may have came out wrong. I could stop, it was just that you really had to cram on the brakes to get them to the smallest amount needed. In a panic stop I didn't want to have to think about how much harder they had to be pushed. Beretta brakes don't inspire much confidence in the first place. An...

Re: Ceramic vs semi metallic, does ceramic get hotter?
For the short time they were on my car I never had them heat up that bad. Did get warmer than the semi metallic pads. You could feel more heat from the wheel. That was in the fall, as for the winter they took too long to warm up and start working. Almost blew the stop sign at the end of the block. F...
