How to remove motor mount from bracket

Post by Cam2363 »

I have a 96 z26 and I could not for the life of me figure out how to remove the rubber block bushing from the metal bracket. I snapped 2 screw drivers trying to get It out. I removed all the bolts and everything but got nothing. Anyone know how I'm supposed to get it out of the bracket? I think its welded in.

This is the mount on the left side next to the power steering pump

Oh these can be a pain until you've done it once! Then it makes more sense. You gotta pry it out. Sorry bud!

Thanks, but actually, I found a great video saying I need to drill out the rivets on the bottom with a 9/16 drill bit. Did that and with a little prying. It came right out. So thanks for your help. But I figured it out, and a much easier method

Good luck! It's always something with an older car!
