Engine mounts

Post by JacksonKlatt »

1996 Z26, trans mount has been replaced. What mounts do I need to replace to keep this engine from bucking?

Bucking is probably the torque strut. The other two mounts are kind of pivot points if the torque strut is wheezed.

Gotcha, is that something that can be done on your back under the car in the garage? I'm a mechanic but by no means am I more advanced than a jack stand and tools on my damn back haha.

Yep, torque-strut or 'dog bone', as it is roughly shaped like one, is on the passenger side underneath the engine near the crank pully. Two bolts and it is out. Probably worth while to pull the front wheel for access.
