89 GT help! Can't find any Park/Neutral switch info!

Post by cedwards88 »

The time has come to replace my Park/Neutral Safety switch on my 1989 Beretta Gt, and I can't track a single one down anywhere. If anyone has the GM or likewise part number, I would be forever greatful.

I'm working with the 3T40 automatic transmission, and no parts store or website I've come across has the same one shown in my repair manual, which, of course, leaves out the part number :runsies:

I had to scrap my '89 GTU's 3T40 for a core for a spare 282 5-speed a few years ago, but gutted it first and saved what I could -I will see if I can find the P/N switch from it this week, hopefully I can find it. If nothing else, I'll see if any part numbers are visible on my Yellow Indy's switch. Send me a PM with a fair offer if I can find mine, I will test it first and guarantee function. They ARE still available as an aftermarket part for ~$70 from Rock Auto, to give you a basis of value -original OE may be worth more than aftermarket, but new is nicer than used, so I could say ~$40 plus shipping? If you would rather buy new from them though, search part number NS47 -"Standard Automotive Products" part, not greatest of quality, but what are you going to find now days?
